4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
No bottling date.
A: Hazy dark brown/mahogany body with a thin light tan head on top. Solid looking beer.
S: A very strong aroma of sweet and mildly roasty hazelnut coffee and slight cocoa. This smells exactly like an iced hazelnut coffee, which is fantastic.
T: A slightly sweet and mildly roasted hazelnut makes up the flavor here, there are hints of caramel and cocoa, but man this is hazelnut and it’s wonderful.
M: Medium bodied with good amounts of mildly fizzy carbonation. A bit bready.
O: If you love hazelnut coffee then this is the beer for you. This is fantastic and everything I dreamed it would be. This would be the perfect morning beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle to snifter. Pours dark brown amber color with a quick sudsy off white head that fades to a wispy film and tiny collar. Aroma is strong coffee and hazelnut with a malt background. Taste is more hazelnut coffee and some vanilla and nutty with a slight bitterness and malty backbone. Palate is medium with a little creaminess and finishes dry. I really enjoyed this.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. The aroma and taste are hazelnut and vanilla-flavored coffee grounds. The taste is quite good, though a bit thin for a brown in my book. Like Better Half in terms of balance and sweetness, with burnt coffee taste from KBS (tho no bourbon). Worthy effort, but looking forward to the next Backstage.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle and Draft. Pours a nice roasted brown color. Aroma is overpowering with hazelnut and super inviting and warm. The taste is flat out awesome. Great mix of coffee, hazelnut, and malt. The body is nice and light like a brown ale should be, but at the same time fills your mouth with flavor so it seems very full bodied. One of the best brown ales out there hands down.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Seriously disappointed with this release. Aroma overpowered by artificial (why?!?) hazelnut. Taste dominated similarly, all over a thin body that had no chance to hold it. If you love hazelnut creamer, go for it.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Shared bomber at Lunar Brewing Co.. Thanks, M.J.! Poured to snifters, and presented an orangy, walnut brown color, with light, off white head foam that reduced quickly to a ring & film, and left some dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was a pleasant aroma of smooth roastiness, sweet chocolate scent, coffee, and hazelnuttiness. Ditto on the flavor, with a medium hop bitterness, smooth maltiness, sweetness, and a body that was medium, but wished that it was a bit fuller, and maybe even a touch syrupy to make it an ultimate liqueur brew. Well hidden abv!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Quite an impressive brew. Smells amazing, tastes better than good, looks purty. Poured into weird tulip-esque glass. Translucent amber red brown. White head isn’t hanging around long, but leaves slight lacing. Smells like a hazelnut coffee bag minus any strong roast aromas. Vanilla, chocolate aromas are present, too. Tastes just like it smells. Literally. Only exception here is the slight toffee presence in the flavor. In the end, the body is manageable, the flavor is rich, and the beer is good. Win!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours brown like iced tea with a white head. Aroma is coffee, hazelnut, and vanilla. Flavor is sweet, caramel, vanilla, roasty hazelnut, a little coffee and earthy notes.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
the glorious smell that gets me going every morning, coffee with hazlenut creamer. Simply tantilizing aroma. The flavor is equally pleasant in rich hazelnut coffee flavor. Sligh chocolate and woody notes round out this exceptional brew. Great mouthfeel, medium body, smooth, not so bitter finish. Founders really knows how to use coffee in a beer. Love it.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Interesting beer. The aroma is mellow coffee, hazelnuts, caramel. The appearance is brown, translucent, tinge of red, off-white head. The flavor is like the aroma, coffee, hazelnut, caramel, vanilla. The finish is sweet, then some roast, and pine and grapefruit. Medium in body, actually a little on the thin side. Decent overall, an unique and interesting experiment.
