Pours a hazy apricot color with a finger of head and decent lacing. Aroma of vanilla and tropical fruit with biscuit malt. Taste of honey and citrus with the vanilla and quite a bit of alcohol apparent. Bitterness initially but that fades in aftertaste. Some oakiness and bourbon in finish. Mouthfeel is creamy and medium bodied with medium/high carbonation. Interesting beer but I'm not sure all the flavors meld completely. ---Jeremy H

Light orange with a bit of brown not much head. Smells of fruit, orange, banana, vanilla. A biting sweet rush at first like a cough syrup with a citrus bitter, honey, vanilla, hops, booze, bourbon towards the end with biscuit cracker. A unique combo of tastes. Very well done, a sipper. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. The pour is a very light hazy orange with little head. The aroma is that of an orange peel, very little bourbon smell to me. The taste is an interesting blend. Not much bourbon upfront, but finishes with hot bourbonness. Mostly bitter hops upfront. The very tail end I get some fruit flavors. Good, but I prefer my stouts barrel aged and not my iipa’s.

Shared bomber, snifter glass. Started off with it a bit too chilly, but it still presented a nice aroma: bourbon and malt but not burning or slapping me upside the head. The taste: on one hand the bourbon tells me that it will kick my ass and slowed down my sipping; on the other hand the nice bourbon and malts combined for a smoothness and great taste that lured me in. The hops were there, but the bourbon knocked them down on the palate; also had oak and vanilla. I really, really, really enjoyed this.

750 ml bottle. Pours a translucent copper with q white head of foam with awesome retention. Aroma has big vanilla and citrus notes. As the beer warms it turns into all Bourbon. Taste is very smooth and pleasant, but I just don’t know if barrel aging a double IPA is the best of ideas.

Sorry to say that this was the worst mashing of flavors I have ever tasted no hop flavor detected, heavy bourban taste flavors that for me simply do not work at all. Yuk !

750 ml bottle. Served in a snifter, the beer pours a hazy golden/orange color with a half inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The aroma is nice, it smells like bourbon, vanilla, citrusy and pine hops, coconut, and some apricot. Taste is a lot like the aroma, with the bourbon, vanilla, and oak flavors being the strongest. Combined with the bitter pine/citrusy hop flavors, it makes for a unique tasting brew. There’s also a bit of coconut and mango noticeable. Good mix between the sweet and bitter flavors, although I think it’s more sweet tasting. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it’s a bit slick and syrupy with low/moderate carbonation. It’s also smooth and easy to drink. I think its a good overall brew, I’m glad I got to try this one. Worth a try if you come across it.

Draft. Hazy golden yellow, small white head, solid lacing. Aroma of vanilla, bourbon. Taste is mostly bourbon, a bit of vanilla, white wine. I don’t fully understand aging IPAs or DIPAs, but there you go.

Nice golden color; Medium creamy body; Aroma of toasted malt, oak, vanilla, pine hops, & tropical fruit; Flavor of sweet malt, oak, pine hops, citrus (notably grapefruit), caramel, and some fruit; Finish is fairly dry and bitter; Nicely balanced; Overall, I thought this was very good and interesting.
