On tap a few days ago at Blue Monk in Buffalo, NY. Iíd had Double Trouble before but never this one. Certainly interesting, has a sweet feel to it, very boozy. Light on the vanilla and bourbon but it is noticeable. Not strong on the hops, maybe the barrel-aging cuts down on the bite.

I was bored randomly looking for a new liquor store and found one thatís only link was to their facebook page and on that page was a 2 hour old post that said they just got a case of Doom and to hurry up and get it. So I went and got it and got one of the last few bottles that they had left. It pours a clear but murky orange color with a small white head. It smells like bourbon with a hint of sweetness in there. It tastes very hoppy but it hits you kind of like a thick beer and then again with some more bourbon. This is a powerful beer and I like it a lot.

Randomly stumbled across this beer on a stores Facebook.... Pours orange amber with a lacy foam head. Aroma is very sweet. A lot of vanilla and brown sugar with some citrus and pine notes. The flavor is the exact opposite. I have never had a more appropriately named beer. This beer is a jagged mountain range of harsh flavors. Itís brutally hoppy, with a balanced-but-deadly malt signature. Then thereís the bourbon flavor that crushes everything else... This is a deadly beer. After a while the flavors meld into a sweet burbony vanilla flavor with hop and citrus tones. Very very complex. Through it all it maintains a hoppy bitter boozy finish that makes you want more and more. This beer is brutal enough for me.... I donít think I could handle anymore...

Pour clear orange with a small white head. Aroma is vert pleasant, lots of vanilla and citrus. The flavors are really over powered by the alcohol. It taste exactly like a double ipa aged in bourbon barrels.

Took some lucky timing to get one of these. Bright golden pour with a small white head. Interesting, one of a kind aroma. Boozy with lots of vanilla, tropical, citrusy fruits, coconut and a touch of bourbon on the back. Flavors were sweet up front, vanilla, bourbon, candied hops, more coconut and citrus. Velvety mouthfeel with perfect carbonation. Aside from being a bit hot, this stuff rocked. Wish it was easier to come by.

From a 22 oz bottle shared at Ryanís. Pours a clear dark gold with a white head. Piney hop aroma. Complex flavors with the bourbon barrel notes dominating. Oaky vanilla, bitter finish.

April 24, 2013 - bottle from AV3. Clear golden pour with big head that lasted and lacing. Aroma was sweet, malty, some hops and bourbon. Sweet start with the taste that moves into a mild bourbon and finishes with a stronger bourbon and a piney bitterness. Thick to medium bodied and relatively smooth. The finish was just too much pine for me, otherwise was very good. Excited to try another one in the series.
