4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Moderate roasted and caramel notes for the malt, heavy orange and a hint of perfume for the hops, faint dough for the yeast, with bourbon and date in the background. Head is small, bubbly, slightly off-white with fair lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is hazy medium amber/orange. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then the long finish is moderately bittersweet. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, oily with a lively carbonation and a finish thatís almost harshly alcoholic and a bit sticky. This DIPA has a lot of bold aromas and flavors, especially the bourbon-y parts.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Well, letís see what all the rage is about.
Golden on apricot colored with a thin white sheet. Smells like sweet bourbon and bubble gum and diacetyl. Taste is malt, some nougat, vanilla, artificial caramel, alcohol, very, very sweet. Medium bodied with moderate carb and an off dry finish. Well, this is not what I expected. I have have barrel aged IPA and DIPAís, but this is shit. Sweet, alcoholic, sweet and not very much like the style at all. That being said, if somebody is looking for a desert beer, Iíd suggest this as it reminds me very much of a higher end Samiclaus.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sparkling, medium gold body with creamy white head. Decent amount of carb bubbles. Bourbon and pickle barrel on the nose. Tastes of intensely sweet caramel, belgian candies, and non-descript bitterness. Smooth woodiness in the background. Creamy and slick mouth feel. Not terribly crisp--didnt ferment out conpletely?
Solid beer. Finishes with a hard alcoholic bite, so doesnt mask that well.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap. Light in color. Pleasant but mild aroma. The oak and bourbon mix very nicely with the beer and provide a nice balance for the hops. A barrel-aged double IPA that is very well made.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Tastes like year old double trouble. Stale hops, didnít get much bourbon or heat. Just a double IPA that was left way past its prime.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Missing some of the hop flavor with the aging, but the bourbon notes certainly put this one over the top. A solid method of combining a beer like Double Trouble with the aging process. Wonderfully smooth.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured a golden color with aromas of booze, light oak, vanilla, and some hops. Flavors are the same with light hops and bourbon. Decent beer overall, but not a big fan of these bourbon aged dipas....

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Hazy golden pour with a scattering of white foam and bubbles. Nice mellow bourbon with vanilla over denser sweet malt and moderate pine and bitterness on the back in the aroma. Taste is bourbon and vanilla in the first third but then thereís a transition to a relatively heavy malt profile with denser sweetness and raisin before the bitternesss and light pine closes the loop. Smooth, coating mouthfeel. I like that the bourbon is there but itís not the entire beer. I also like how the base beer has aged nicely and while missing much of the hop aroma and flavor it initially showcased it presents well with the bourbon. Great beer.

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Gold, clear, persistent head.
Medium-full body, very flavorfull, long on palate.
Medium bitterness with equal malt sweetness, bitter more than sweet finish.
Complex hoppy flavors which last to the end.
Delicate but very expressive beer.
