One of the best - if not THE BEST - beers I've ever tasted. Distraught that I probably will never get to have it again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Golden pour with a white head. Smells like bourbon and sweet caramel and the taste follows it up. Vanilla caramel is what I am getting, which dominates the body, combined with the bourbon makes this an extremely well rounded smooth beer. Towards the finish I started tasting a little butterscotch which led into a finish similar to that of a straight up bourbon on the rocks. If you appreciate great bourbon and great IPA then this is a dream beer.

Poured from a bottle into a snifter, appearance is a nice yellow orange color with a fluffy white head. The smell is outstanding bourbon and vanilla. Taste is outstanding with bourbon, zest and vanilla. This was the first of this style that I had tried but turned out amazing. Highly recommend!

12oz, brewery capped bottle via trade with badnewsbears. thanks, tyler! absolutely stunned to have the chance to try this one! pours a beutiful, yellow-gold with a thick, creamy, white head and great lacing. no worries about carbonation here! aroma is absolutely fantastic with more tropical fruit notes than i’ve ever encountered in a DIPA (must be fresh as hell!)scents of pineapple, papaya, and starfruit jump out and i could swear there is some fresh coconut in there backed by pink grapefruit citrus, light pine resins, a touch of white pepper, and sweet, boozy, oaked vanilla. flavor is damn close to sublime. exactly what i would have imagined if you took fresh double trouble and aged it in bourbon barrels. the huge tropical fruit notes from the aroma continue with the addition of juicy pear and tangerine balanced by spicy, piney hops, bourbon, oak, and sweet vanilla with just a hint of toasty malts. palate is full bodied, slightly sticky, with perfect carbonation and a lingering, woody, citrusy finish. overall, i knew this beer was right in my wheelhouse and it did not disappoint. one of the best beers i’ve had the pleasure of tasting.

Doom pours a lovely sunset orange with an off-white head thy lingers and leaves excellent lacing. The aroma is citrus, wood, bourbon and vanilla. The flavor is citrus up front with the bourbon and wood from the barrel aging shining through in the middle. A vanilla flavor hangs on in the aftertaste. Overall this beer is amazing. IPA fans must try this. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a golden copper with a bright white head. Decent lacing. Aroma of bourbon, toasted oak, vanilla, and faint notes of earthy hops. Sweet malts, vanilla and charred oak hit the palate first followed by nice hoppy bitterness. Nice warmth from the 10% ABV. Finishes dry with great bourbon aftertaste. Mouthfeel is full bodied with little carbonation. Overall an outstanding barrel aged DIPA (Double Trouble if I'm not mistaken). Well balanced and extremely well crafted, Founders continues to impress! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a tan gold clear. Aroma is earthy hops and world class bourbon. Palate starts sweet but not malty sweet, more from the bourbon and a nice transition to the big on your face hops. Crazy complex. Amazing if your counted amongst the lucky ones to get your hands on Doom!!!

Randomly stumbled across this beer on a stores Facebook.... Pours orange amber with a lacy foam head. Aroma is very sweet. A lot of vanilla and brown sugar with some citrus and pine notes. The flavor is the exact opposite. I have never had a more appropriately named beer. This beer is a jagged mountain range of harsh flavors. It’s brutally hoppy, with a balanced-but-deadly malt signature. Then there’s the bourbon flavor that crushes everything else... This is a deadly beer. After a while the flavors meld into a sweet burbony vanilla flavor with hop and citrus tones. Very very complex. Through it all it maintains a hoppy bitter boozy finish that makes you want more and more. This beer is brutal enough for me.... I don’t think I could handle anymore...

Shared bomber, snifter glass. Started off with it a bit too chilly, but it still presented a nice aroma: bourbon and malt but not burning or slapping me upside the head. The taste: on one hand the bourbon tells me that it will kick my ass and slowed down my sipping; on the other hand the nice bourbon and malts combined for a smoothness and great taste that lured me in. The hops were there, but the bourbon knocked them down on the palate; also had oak and vanilla. I really, really, really enjoyed this.
