Ever had Edís Cave Creek Chile beer? This reminds me of an actually good version of that, to an extent. The mango is obvious in the aroma, and so is the chile. Mango is obvious in the first few sips, but after that the habanero burn starts to dominate. Itís definitely a sipper. I could see it being a great pair with food that doesnít have a strong and overpowering taste - fish? The combination of the ABV and the chile definitely warmed me up. Compliments of a beer buddy here at work as several of us shared his bottle. Would I purchase this myself? Probably not now that Iíve tried it. Would I drink it again? No question. Would I drink it often? Donít think so - itís a very intense experience.

Clear golden coloured body with a nice soapy white head and a good deal of bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of pure mango, candy sugar, heat from chiles and a bit of malt - very nice and super fragrant. Medium-bodied; Assertive mango and sweet flavours at first dominate this one, with a good deal of chile heat from the peppers and a nice subdued malt backbone with a lot of residual sweetness at the end. Aftertaste shows a good blend of the sweet and the heat with a little effervescence and a nice robust rich flavour which works well with the heat! I sampled this 32 ounce growler fill from Whole Foods in Fair Lakes (Fairfax), Virginia on 18-July-2016 for US$5,00 sampled a day later at home in Washington.

Tap. Clear golden with small fizzy head. Massive mango candy, green apple, lemon, lots of candy and sugary notes. Very sweet. Full bodied with fizzy carbonation and some burning chili feel. The chilies donít add a lot of flavor but do add a nice heat. Great.

Bottle from Salt Horse. Shared with Helena. Written from memory. Poured pretty clear. Dark, slightly orangey gold. Wee creamy white head on it. Very upfront aroma of mango. So sweet and confectionary-like it borders on artificial actually. Itís very dominant. Someone at the table said it was like "the good kind of toilet....yíknow, a posh one". No real hint of alcohol on the nose. Some back-up bready brioche malt hiding at the back. Wee hint of the warm vegetal note the habanero brings. Taste has a full sweetness from the mango and malt. Sweeter than some would enjoy. Lovely, creamy full mouthfeel. Very rich. Little bit of warmth from the alcohol but itís well integrated here. A build-up of prickly heat from the peppers but itís very complimentary and restrained. Good creamy carbonation. A little too full on with the fruit for me but was well worth a try.

04-AUG-2016, draft @Taphouse.
Slightly hazy, dark golden with a lasting, lacing, White head.
Aroma is MANGO!. Huge mango aroma - like a juice.
Taste is ... Wauw - Chili! Did not expect that. Quite nice with the chili. It covers some of the alcohol and balances the sweetness, and it is very sweet.
Butn from alcohol and chili, long, sweet burning finish. Funny one. Not bad, though.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a golden orange color with a quick dissolving white head. Faint citrus, biscuit and spice aroma. Mango, resin, syrup, pine, caramel, biscuit and very very faint habanero flavors. Pretty full body and mild carbonation. Resin, pine and slightly spice finish. Disappointed in the lack of heat and syrupy mouthfeel.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is fresh ripe mango with only a hint of habanero. Burnt orange color with a very small off white head that leaves no lacing. The mango in the flavor is not as authentic as in the aroma but still good. Nice use of habanero; it only appears at the very end of the sip to balance out all the sweetness. Still, the beer is on the sweet side but that is to be expected from a fruit beer. Solid palate; surprisingly low carbonation.
