It’s not always a good thing when your reputation precedes you. But the complexity of this powerful wheat wine will give it a Sweet Repute no matter where, when or how your paths meet. Our brewing team painstakingly choreographed each layer of this beer’s characteristics, starting with a healthy wheat and roasted malt base and adding clean, fragrant hops. It’s one-hundred percent barrel aged in maple syrup bourbon barrels and bourbon barrels over the course of sixteen months, then blended using carefully calculated ratios for the ultimate final product. The resulting 12.6% ABV liquid pours a bright warm russet with a stubborn ivory head and an intoxicatingly sweet nutty aroma. Take your time allowing the layers of flavors to unfold… Because it’ll only get better.

(750ml bottle) clear gold orange, soapy tan bubbles. Nose of coconut, sweet alcohol, woody, palm sugar. Taste of coconut, alcohol, very sweet, completely one dimensional. Not good.

Bottle pours with a clear gold body that has copper hues and supports a light tan head. The aroma offers up maltiness, roasted malts, raisins, apricot, pears and white sugar cubes. The taste delivers lots of various notes like sweet malts, roasted malts, brown sugar dredged apple skins, prunes and dates. It then picks up an additional element of smooth near velvety sweet bourbon. Wow. Nice pleasing balance between base beer and barrel treatment.

Bottle from Trinity Wine and Spirits. Pours a mostly clear yellow-orange with a white head that laces and leaves legs. Nose is sweetbread, cotton candy, bourbon, vanilla, wood, maple, and light booze with some cherry as well. Flavor is similar: huge vanilla, cotton candy, sweetness, bourbon, maple, oak, and sweetbread with hints of cherries then there is a strange bitterness at the end that keeps me from rating it higher, but then the lingering oak, maple, bourbon, and vanilla come in to smooth things over. Very enjoyable, light to medium bodied beer with a long-lasting finish,

On tap a cloudy orange to amber modest off white head. A barrage of complex tastes with none predominate however there is a persistent fruity to sweet under tone. There is also an alcohol tang but it is not overwhelming or unpleasant.

Thanks for sharing, Dave! Aroma leaks a sticky-sweet edge of maple cone candy and intensified malt. Booze-alicious. As someone else at the table said, it’s like scotch mixed with beer. This is rough stuff. Intensely sweet, intensely alcoholic and almost no beer flavor left. There’s this amalgam of woody, bourbon-y, maple, sweetness and not much else. Not sure what the point of doing this in beer form is.

750ml split with hopswagger. Served in a Prairie Teku glass 2013 A - Pours a copper/amber with chunky sediment suspended. Small white head vanishes forming a wispy cap. S - Sweet and buttery whiskey aroma, doughy sweet rolls, grain, white corn, graham crackers, maple glaze, cotton candy, coconut grows as it warms. Honey graham cracker malt. Spicy butterscotch alcohol. T - Sweet maple and whiskey upfront, peppery hops and spicy alcohol quickly come in creating a coarse and woody balance to the sweetness. The cookie dough malt is sweet and buttery with coconut and vanilla lightly grazing the edges. Candied pears come out as it warms. Finishes clean with vanilla and sweet maple/whiskey. M - The wheat creates a thick and creamy body that is welcomed. Creamy whipped carbonation with a smooth, chewy, and full feel but the alcohol creates some sharpness. Very creamy but sharp at times. One of the best smelling beers I’ve had the opportunity to sniff. It’s sweet, buttery, creamy, savory whiskey filled beer with a full bodied and underlying wheat base. The alcohol is there but is mostly kept in check by the wheat malts. My first Wheat wine aged on barrels. This is worth seeking out. Serving type: bottle 12-27-2013

Pours a clear amber with a light white head. Booze and whiskey are all I got off the nose. Literally tastes like a shot of whiskey was poured. Luckily, I like whiskey. Sweet flavor. Medium body. Medium Carbonation. Draft - Leon’s - Decatur, GA

Very good smell. Really good taste. Has quite the kick but still very good and balanced. Actually what you would look for in this style of beer. Really good taste and feel.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2014 Pretty good beer. I would say it has a bit too much of an alcohol burn. Would like to try it with a little age on it.
