It’s not always a good thing when your reputation precedes you. But the complexity of this powerful wheat wine will give it a Sweet Repute no matter where, when or how your paths meet. Our brewing team painstakingly choreographed each layer of this beer’s characteristics, starting with a healthy wheat and roasted malt base and adding clean, fragrant hops. It’s one-hundred percent barrel aged in maple syrup bourbon barrels and bourbon barrels over the course of sixteen months, then blended using carefully calculated ratios for the ultimate final product. The resulting 12.6% ABV liquid pours a bright warm russet with a stubborn ivory head and an intoxicatingly sweet nutty aroma. Take your time allowing the layers of flavors to unfold… Because it’ll only get better.

Appearance: Pours peach colored with a thin beige ring and spotty lacing.

Aroma: Banana, rum, light citrus, toffee.

Taste: Vanilla, banana cream pie, Euro hop spice, big woody spirit barrel, spiced rum.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied, modest carbonation.

Overall: Very enjoyable and boozy now, this beer won’t fall apart with a year or two on it, so if you want to lay it down, go for it.

750 ml bottle. Pours a clear copper with a medium light cream colored head. Unfiltered, with lots of particles floating all around. Aroma of bourbon, maple, wheat and candied malt. Taste of sweet candied malt, bourbon, maple and wheat. Nice treat.

Bottle - 750mL crowned. Amber pour with a short, bubbly white head. Been sitting for a while and still has a strong boozy and fruity aroma. Lots of bourbon, vanilla, soft coconut, fruit notes and oak. Taste is BIG vanilla and bourbon, toasted coconut, oak, sweet malt, ripe fruits, alcohol, citrus, floral hops, toasted grains and caramel. Body is medium-full and has a soft, prickly carbonation. Very sticky and boozy with LOTS of warmth to this! Ends with more booze, ripe fruits, coconut, vanilla, oak, bourbon, candied fruit, toasted malt, caramel notes and citrus.

Bottled. Pours deep orange with a white head. Fantastic bourbon like aroma, Very sweet, but pleasing flavors. Butterscotch and bourbon, with a hint of maple. Too sweet to drink much of, but a wonderful bottle to split.

Bottle:   Orangish, a little hazy, soft sudsy white head, spotty lacing.   Sweet nose, some strong candied citrus peel, soft bourbon, a little maple syrup.   Whoa, super strong and thickly sweet on the tongue.   Noticeable heat, astringent bourbon, and unfinished maple syrup.   This one is too much.   Not smooth or refined.   Its really brash and hot.   Hard to finish even half the bottle.   Thanks Kevin!

Cloudy amber in appearance. Aroma is nice, sweet caramel and oak. Taste is pretty sweet as well with oak, caramel, vanilla, and scotchy malt. Tasty brew.

Really cloudy reddish brown with very little white head. Floral scents, lots of honey, very oaky. Average carbonation with a thick sticky mouthfeel and supremely clean finish. Taste is pretty peaty and bitter, very earthy, sweet oakiness and honey as well as molasses molasses prevent it from being too bitter. Good barley wine for me as it’s not too bitter and peaty.

Honey and bourbon dominate this release. Very sweet and dessert forward, almost in the region of a fortified wine. Heavy maltiness - a warming heat comes through but does not overwhelm

pours a cloudy orange with a white head. aroma is sweet with bourbon, caramel and maple. flavor is also very sweet, but pleasantly so though. The balance between the bourbon and maple barrel aging seems to well balanced with neither outweighing the other. As it warms the alcohol seems to spring out a little more. Full bodied, with a syrupy mouth feel. medium carbonation with a finish that starts out sweet then gradually becomes slightly bitter. I know this is sweet but the bourbon aging really balances it out well and it taste wonderful. Nothing bad to say here. Another fine example from the backstage series.

Lots of bourbon on this -- and the rye, nutty, smoky notes dominate over the vanilla sweet ones. Rich and supercharged at 12 percent. Glides over the palate.
