COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Itís not always a good thing when your reputation precedes you. But the complexity of this powerful wheat wine will give it a Sweet Repute no matter where, when or how your paths meet. Our brewing team painstakingly choreographed each layer of this beerís characteristics, starting with a healthy wheat and roasted malt base and adding clean, fragrant hops. Itís one-hundred percent barrel aged in maple syrup bourbon barrels and bourbon barrels over the course of sixteen months, then blended using carefully calculated ratios for the ultimate final product. The resulting 12.6% ABV liquid pours a bright warm russet with a stubborn ivory head and an intoxicatingly sweet nutty aroma. Take your time allowing the layers of flavors to unfoldÖ Because itíll only get better.

This one poured a cloudy darker orange color with a white head. Aroma was of a good bit of bourbonj, alcohol, wheat, and oak. Flavor was vanilla, oak, dough, and lots of bourbon. Decent big BA wheat wine, but nothing special.

Bottle from Bertís pours a deep golden/amber color with a good sized bubbly white head that persists forever leaving spotty lace on the way down. Aromas of dark caramel, vanilla, wood, nuts, a bit of spice and an odd but enticing pineapple coconut thing going on. The flavor is maple and dark sugars with a tart tropical fruit flavor with a spicy wheat edge and bits of vanilla, alcohol, and bourbon oak. Medium to thick body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet slick mouthfeel. I enjoyed sipping on the one for most of the afternoon. Its and odd but enticing brew.

Poured from a bomber into a tulip glass. Murky light brown appearance with little head. Bland aroma of some maple and not much else. Harsh mouthfeel. This a bit too carbonated and needs to even out a bit. The flavor is likewise disappointing. The maple is always present, but never exciting. Little bourbon flavor and only mild oak. This tastes like a failed clone of backwoods bastard. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I canít find bottling information.
Appearance: Lots of flaky sediment in the otherwise clear amber body. Looking at the body recalls being high and looking at things. The head is short and short lived, settling into a soft white coating.
Aroma: The aroma is primarily of coconut with a hint of maple syrup and a touch of smokeyness. Bourbon is hinted at on the aroma, but sweet syrup and coconut are the mainstays.
Taste: The flavor is definitely sweet with maple syrup being prominent throughout. The intro hints at booze and oak, while there is a sweet malt underlying everything. The finish is a tad spicy with some bourbon present. Overall this just tastes a bit sweet with some barrel notes, nothing Iím excited about.
Palate: Thick and near syrupy, mildly carbonated.
Overall: Iím not excited about this one bit. Iíve had maple bacon vodka that reminded me of this, albeit tasting better. The price is the final stab in the belly for this, it was near $20, thatís unacceptable for this. This doesnít have many redeeming qualities and seems to be all barrel.

Clear amber pour from a bottle shared by The Hoff @ Arminís - nose is malty sweet. Decent taste, strong bitterness while still very malty with a slight maple flavor.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, dark reddish pour with white head, aroma brought notes of maple, caramel, toffee, hints of caramel, touch of spice, slight earth. Taste is a mix of dark fruit, caramel, toffee, molasses, touch of earth, slight spice into grass, vanilla, oak, finishing sweet, with some maple.

Bottle Clear light yellow pour, very smal ring of carbonation and an aroma of sweep maple and strong boozy malt. Flavor is also very sweet boozy malty, bourbon and more maple syrup. Really reminds me of Nemesis 09, tasty and worth the asking price.

Seeing a new Founders draft made it a no brainer for my sampler tray. A big bold Midwestern beer is exactly what one would expect from the brains behind one of the best Michigan breweries. Savor this over a long session and find out why Founderís is still as popular as it was six years ago.

Aroma / Appearance - The flat caramel colored base is decorated by only the thinnest of wispy head. Honey, almonds, wheat, and malt tickle the senses. It feels as heavy as the 12% ABV billing as it hangs in the air like a dense wintery fog.

Flavor / Palate - A thick and vinous first impression crawls into every corner of the palate. Coating the tongue like a layer of sealant it unleashes a chewy wave of orange sorbet, wheat, and watered down honey. The warm finish grows over time - a full pint would definitely take its toll if you did not balance it with water and / or food. Even so Iíd love to have one to throw into the cellar to see how it ages in about three years.

On tap at Harris Grill. The series is turning around since the low point of Doom. Still not my favorite. Pours a golden brownish red color with an off white head. Aroma of bourbon vanilla and some maple but not much. Big vanilla. Taste is definitely sweet. Lighter carb and medium thick body. I can stop after 6 oz of this stuff.
