COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s not always a good thing when your reputation precedes you. But the complexity of this powerful wheat wine will give it a Sweet Repute no matter where, when or how your paths meet. Our brewing team painstakingly choreographed each layer of this beer’s characteristics, starting with a healthy wheat and roasted malt base and adding clean, fragrant hops. It’s one-hundred percent barrel aged in maple syrup bourbon barrels and bourbon barrels over the course of sixteen months, then blended using carefully calculated ratios for the ultimate final product. The resulting 12.6% ABV liquid pours a bright warm russet with a stubborn ivory head and an intoxicatingly sweet nutty aroma. Take your time allowing the layers of flavors to unfold… Because it’ll only get better.

Clear caramel color with a thin film of foam. I primarily get alcohol in the aroma. After warming there is more malt and caramel but it’s rough. Taste is the same as aroma. Lots of alcohol taste along with malty caramel and some coffee. I really wanted to like this but the alcohol is just over powering. Possibly a year or so on the shelf would calm it down a little.

Very strong bourbon nose with white wine finish. Very odd but it is well balanced. Good taste but just not my thing.

750 ml bottle from Homer321. Nose is maple syrup, oaky vanilla, nut bread, and a hint of bourbon. Crystal clear orange with a small beige head. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter, nuts, toffee, and wood. Very nice BA barleywine.

Bottle, 10 months old going by the release date. Burnt orange, soapy thin head. Aroma is sweet bourbon, vanilla, and candied sugar. The taste adds warm maple syrup notes, brown sugar, heavy malts, oak, a little coconut, some citrus fruit on the finish. Very big and complex. The 12.6% is very noticeable. Warm lingering bourbon boozy feel in the aftertaste that sits in your chest. -- I also had this fresh. 10 months really didn’t change it at all. Huge and rich. Excellent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Novare Res in Portland, Maine. Rich on the nose, hard to pin down. First thought was it smells like a swimming pool. Incredibly rich flavor but still a smooth palate. Very complex. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pale orange with copper tinge, creamy beige head. Sweet, mango, booze, vanilla, oak, maple syrup, some wheat wine characteristics, full body with mild carbonation, slightly buttery on the palate and more so on the finish, become a bit dry and more boozy on the finish. An acquired taste.

Pale to clear golden orange pour with a thin soapy white head and striped sticky lacing .... aroma of coconut, vanilla, maple syrup, bourbon, oranges, spices and some booze .... taste is of vanilla, oak, coconut, bourbon, spicy and sweet maple syrup, caramel and bitter orange rind ... creamy mouthfeel ... finish is dry and spicy with a nice sweet syrupy dry bourbon lingering bite ... definitely lives up to the name abv is evident

Appearance: Pours peach colored with a thin beige ring and spotty lacing.

Aroma: Banana, rum, light citrus, toffee.

Taste: Vanilla, banana cream pie, Euro hop spice, big woody spirit barrel, spiced rum.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied, modest carbonation.

Overall: Very enjoyable and boozy now, this beer won’t fall apart with a year or two on it, so if you want to lay it down, go for it.
