Very good smell. Really good taste. Has quite the kick but still very good and balanced. Actually what you would look for in this style of beer. Really good taste and feel.

750 ml bottle split 4 ways. Aroma is bacon soaked in maple syrup and bourbon. Love the nose!
The flavor start with maple and light sugar followed by vanilla and mild bourbon notes. Oak barrel is light with the alcohol only showing with a very mild warming after the sip. I didn’t sample this fresh because of what it is. The texture was a little oily with a better than average body. The sweetness seems like it would take over but splitting this 4 ways is about perfect.

Very strong bourbon nose with white wine finish. Very odd but it is well balanced. Good taste but just not my thing.

750 ml bottle from Homer321. Nose is maple syrup, oaky vanilla, nut bread, and a hint of bourbon. Crystal clear orange with a small beige head. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter, nuts, toffee, and wood. Very nice BA barleywine.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, 10 months old going by the release date. Burnt orange, soapy thin head. Aroma is sweet bourbon, vanilla, and candied sugar. The taste adds warm maple syrup notes, brown sugar, heavy malts, oak, a little coconut, some citrus fruit on the finish. Very big and complex. The 12.6% is very noticeable. Warm lingering bourbon boozy feel in the aftertaste that sits in your chest. -- I also had this fresh. 10 months really didn’t change it at all. Huge and rich. Excellent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Novare Res in Portland, Maine. Rich on the nose, hard to pin down. First thought was it smells like a swimming pool. Incredibly rich flavor but still a smooth palate. Very complex. Good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pale orange with copper tinge, creamy beige head. Sweet, mango, booze, vanilla, oak, maple syrup, some wheat wine characteristics, full body with mild carbonation, slightly buttery on the palate and more so on the finish, become a bit dry and more boozy on the finish. An acquired taste.

Pale to clear golden orange pour with a thin soapy white head and striped sticky lacing .... aroma of coconut, vanilla, maple syrup, bourbon, oranges, spices and some booze .... taste is of vanilla, oak, coconut, bourbon, spicy and sweet maple syrup, caramel and bitter orange rind ... creamy mouthfeel ... finish is dry and spicy with a nice sweet syrupy dry bourbon lingering bite ... definitely lives up to the name abv is evident
