Pours a bright ruby red, nose is super boozy. Tastes too much of whiskey, super dry, lacks amber character.

Bottle courtesy Sean. Fresh bourbon, slightly roasted malt, scotch, and light oak in the aroma. Peat-like taste with raisin alcohol notes. Malt and caramel come through more as it warms and the finish remains clean. Some sweet fruit noticeable just before the finish.

Pours dark with a slight head. Sweet at first sip, with warm malts and slight caramel taste, then a bourbon and coffee finish. Definitely a sipping beer at 10.2%

Big nose, slight bourbon nose, vanilla oak, malty sweetness. Flavor is sweet malt, some caramel with hints of bourbon, a tinge of alcohol as it warms. A little thin in the mouth.

Bottle split with Jredmond. Dont remember a hell of a lot, but this was really nice for style. Alcohol hidden very well.

12oz bottle. Poured a hazy reddish amber color with a small white head. The smell is bourbon and cola. The taste follows suit with mellowed bourbon and sweet cola flavors. Iím not really a scotch ale guy, but it you can hide 10%abv in something this well, then Iím onboard the down bound train...

Holy crap, this is tasty. If you the regular old Dirty Bastard, then you will love this. It is like regular bastard with a pile of comlex oakiness, vanilla, bourbon... Too much to explain. Each sip is different and complex. This stuff is amazing!

Must have poured it a bit too vigorously, lots of particulate matter floating about in a murky red suspension. The barest hint of a head, even after the apparently too vigorous pour. The miasma, in a good way, from this backwoods swamp is sweet, earthy, and all Scotland. Not Islay-peaty but mainland. The flavor is more Kentucky than Scotland. Bourbon sweetness (donít think of Scotch as sweet), woody-vanilla fun-times. A mouth-full, swish, swish, coat the teeth, and linger.

2009 vintage bottle thanks to my son, Keith (fata2683) poured into a tulip glass. Reddish dark brown body with thick tan head. Every sip brought a new experience to my taste buds. So many flavors; semi-sweet chocolate covered cherries, caramel, brown sugar, roasted coffee beans, and more. Absolutely delicious. Need more of this.

Bottle. 12 oz. Split with James, Dallas, and Tony. Pours a hazy brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma of toffee, caramel, sweet malts, brown sugar, scotch, pepper, and cream. Medium bodied with a rich, warm palate. Nice boozy finish. Excellent scotch ale.
