3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle [355ml] courtesy of tupalev. Pours a murky copper-brown with a fuckload of floaties (seriously, itís like a crazy snowstorm in there!) and an average size somewhat-lasting creamy tan head. Slightly mild aroma of lightly smoky caramel malt, vanilla and oak. Delicious flavour of caramel malt, vanilla, oak, a hint of smoke and some alcohol. Some bitterness in the finish. Alcoholís there but pretty well hidden for 10%. Medium bodied. A good example of a barrel-aged beer done right, itís not overdone. I really enjoyed it.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: SEP 14, 2009 Poured from the bottle to a hazy dark borwn-red with a strong aroma of bourbon, malty dark fruit and a hint of molasses, with the 10.2% alcohol entering the fray at mid-glass. Mouthfeel is full, slightly chewy and a tad tingly, as the taste perfectly accentuates the scents of the nose. Rounds to a nice long warming finish.
Enjoyed with a nice cigar to round it all out.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a extremely small sized head of medium sized clear colored bubbles that were and left behind a very hazy very softly carbonated and a oily lacing. The mild aroma was bourbon. The mouth feel was tingly and hoppy at the start and at the finish with a vinous aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of hops and soft bourbon ale. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

MMM... This beer has a great malt presence, a little boozy, but in a good way. Carmal and a nice alcohol warming on the finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin light tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, wood, and whiskey. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of bourbon as well as medium notes of caramel and wood, and a slightly burnt edge. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a very dark chestnut brown, almost black color that is completely opaque with only the slightest of mahogany edges and a thin coffee colored head that slowly fades into a lasting ring.
Roasted malt aroma with an awesome oak presence that gives off a nice wooden aroma with sweet vanilla notes and a good dose of bourbon/whiskey. Hints of burnt toast, chocolate, toffee and oatmeal.
Full bodied with a nice roasted malt flavor that is kind of nutty with a big oak, vanilla and whiskey presence. Chocolate malt, caramel, toffee, burnt toast and oatmeal notes are also detectable. Kind of sweet up front with a silky malt backbone with a very nice touch of bourbon and a bitter dry finish.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle that was very kindly passed onto me from Miketd via Craig, cheers Mike, consumed in a field at Towersey Festival, Oxon, 29-08-09 Pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma is sweet and slightly alcohol with the bourbon aging clearly showing. Warming in the mouth, the alcohol is apparent but the barrel aging sends bourbon flavours flooding around. There is plenty of sweet maltiness, rich fruitiness, touch of vanilla and a dab of smokiness going on, lovely stuff. A6 A4 F8 P4 Ov14 3.6
