COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big and delicious for your ’perty mouth. Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts. A bit of earthy spice and a scintilla of dark cherries. It’s a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate.

10-12 oz draught, around $5.75, Barley Hopsters (new location), Delaware, OH; served in a Widmer Brothers snifter. Immediately clear that this is chilled too cold. Cola color but thicker; thick, frothy light brown head dissipates into a thin covering. Aroma is the best part; HUGE oaky bourbon smell, dark fruits, dark malt, caramel. Flavor was surprisingly less than huge, but certain big and round, full, and present, however more typical of a very good Scotch while less mind-splattering than the aroma. Frothy, full, heavy mouthfeel; no hint of 10% abv. Very very nice.

On tap, poured into a belgian tulip. Dark cherry aromas are most dominant at first, but they fade quickly leaving warm caramel, wood, ash, earth and roasty notes on the nose. It pours a deep, rich, red-brown color that’s nearly opaque with a tan fuzzy head that reduces to a medium thin ring with a clean surface and lacing. The taste is a medium-high sweet with a medium bitterness. The texture is viscous and sticky with a soft, fuzzy carbonation. The full malt body is filled out by notes of cherry, caramel, and oak with an earthy, ashy, and lightly spicy finish all with a light touch of alcohol warmth. The aftertaste starts of strong, but fades quickly, and cleans up nicely, echoing notes of caramel and oak, with an earthy character to it.

This one is unique. It is truly sweet and smooth. This one wasn’t bottle aged as it was only bottled about a month before I opened it. Taste and smell the sweet cherries and oak barrels. This one pours really nice and again is smooth and tasty on the palate. Enjoy!

Poured from bottle. Medium brown color with half finger head that dissipates quickly. Smells malty and sweet with hints of dark cherry. Smooth on the palate with complex flavors. Tastes like scotch or bourbon with hints of oak and vanilla. Well balanced between the malts and hops.

Fantastic. Love the bourbon flavor it gets from being brewed in the barrels. The aroma is sweet and full bodied.

It's like scotch without the burning. Rich and deep aroma just a like its promised in the splash page for the brew, lots of malt and some chocolate cherry like character with obvious oak and bourbon. Smooth on the palate with light effervescence that does build slightly. Magical, peaty character well in balance with malts. While this is a sipper at 10%+ ABV I could definitely enjoy this (very slowly) all night. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very low, very clean white however, head on pour. Deep red hued brown color. Very malty, warm and filling. Great presence of bourbon, malt, vanilla, oak and ripened fruit both in nose and pallet. Only detractor is heavy sweetness, if I have to be so picky.

Bottle from a 4 pack. Pours a dark maroon amber with a slight tan head. Smells like bourbon. Tastes like bourbon, malts, caramel, a little smokey, and butter. Palate is creamy with a definitively smooth booze tinge. Absolutely amazing.

Aroma: malt , toffee, caramel, brown sugar, bourbon , and dark fruit. Appearance: ruby hued caramel color with a quickly disappearing head. Taste: sweet caramel, malt, dark fruit, bourbon, and toffee blended masterfully. This beer is amazing , 4 bottles isn’t going to be enough !

Easily one of the best overall beers of what is out there. If this is a preview of KBS then I need to wait in line overnight to try some of that. This is a perfectly balanced ale with bourbon aging. Not overpowering, but a really nice balance between the scotch ale and boozy bourbon.
