Big and delicious for your ’perty mouth. Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts. A bit of earthy spice and a scintilla of dark cherries. It’s a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate.

Kveldens nest siste på M2 jan-15, og Sigmund vet alltid hvordan man skal avrunde kvelden med noen höjdare: her får vi bærpreget snop i en aroma og smak av "tons and tons of" (som Oz Clarke kanskje ville sagt) skotsk whisky, amerikansk bourbon, eikepreget vanilje, sjokolade og alt annet du måtte ønske deg. Varmende balansekunst av klasse.

355 ml bottle, vintage 2014, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 10.2%, 50 IBU. Deep ruby colour, large to moderate off-white to beige head. Aroma of Scotch whisky and bourbon, vanilla, oak, chocolate, grain and dust. Medium sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma, also a distinct hoppy bitterness in the finish. Warming mouthfeel. Not bad at all.

Caramel, nuts, dried fruits, wood and vanilla in the aroma. copper with a tan head. Medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter. Medium to full body with a soft carbonation. Overall a really nice Scotch ale, lots of malt sweetness, pleasant vanilla notes and some warming alcohol in the back.

The Bottle Shop. Clear deep ruby lasting tan head. bourbon vanilla aroma. Fruity malt. Then more of the same in mouth. Sweetish. More vanilla on finish. Not overly woody. It’s kinda I like it. The alcohol helps but nice.

On tap at Acadia with commomshawn. Served up in a tulip glass. Dark brown with plenty of effervescence. Full finger of head with impressive lacing. Powerful aroma pushing a bourbon agenda on the drinker. Almost a Belgian quad smell. Taste has a lot going on. Dark fruit like plum or raisin. Chocolate and espresso notes. Alcohol burn and slightly peat like characteristics intermingled as well. Very rich. Reminds me of beers I’ve sampled at beer festivals that have ultimately resulted in my demise. Really good bite at the end with a chocolate residue. Enjoying this beer a lot...probably too much. What a bastard.

Bottle. A- Bourbon, scotch, dark cherries, vanilla, malty, oak, caramel, strong. A- Dark mahogany color, clear liquid, tan head. T- Bourbon, cherries, vanilla, oak, caramel, subtle alcohol burn. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- What a damn fine beer this is. As soon as I popped the cap and started to pour I could smell the strong bourbon aroma from a couple feet away. The head sadly faded fairly quite and took the complex and amazing aroma with it but as I took first sip, it was heaven sent. Rich, complex, and tantalizing the taste buds this beer was spot on. Really nothing to complain about. At all.
