3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Smells like toffee vanilla bourbon goodness. Taste is of roasted chocolate and coffee finishing with caramel and vanilla. Very dry tannic finish. This is probably from the peat taste of the bourbon in the wood. Overall a great beer but lacking in mouthfeel. It’s a little thin for all the flavor. If this were addressed i’d give this beer a 4.3+ rating. Sort of sad that this one disappears as fast as Kbs these days. At least oc is still not sought after like this one yet.

I don’t really like scotch so not really liking this shouldn’t have been a huge surprise.

Pours semi thick with a nice malty colored head. Aroma of a caramelized scotch. The flavor explosion is amazing. Like a scotch laced cinnamon bun minus the icing. This is a sipping beer!

330ml bottle from Glug, Grainger Market Newcastle. Poured into an English half pint. Lustrous deep red with a firm lasting off-white head. Whiskey and vanilla aroma. Aromas are present in the flavour, with caramel, sweet cherry and dried fruit. Warming alcohol. Full bodied, long chewy finish. Simply delicious.

3.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Deep brown colour with small off white head. Immediate aroma of bourbon and vanilla which gives way to chocolate and raisin. Smooth mouthfeel with a light bourbon flavour, chocolate in the mid palate before dark dried fruit and light alcohol warmth. Quite sweet but well balanced with a just present earthy bitterness. Been a few years since I tried this and I’m very impressed. Great winter warmer.

Draught at KØ15. Really good vanilla aroma. Cloudy chestnut colour. Small stable off-white head. The flavour is sweet with a great vanilla note, bordering on coconut. A great beer.
