Big and delicious for your íperty mouth. Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts. A bit of earthy spice and a scintilla of dark cherries. Itís a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate.

12 oz. bottle from A Southern Season, Chapel Hill, NC. Ar: Complex aroma with dominant notes of pit fruit, cherries, slight smokiness, and vanilla. Ap: Pours a deep brown-red, a beautiful ruby hue when held to the light. Small manila head leaves great lace. T: Sweet, complex flavors going on here. Lots of date, dried black fig, and a bit of cherry. Booze on the finish brings to mind Irish whiskey. A touch of toffee and chocolate on the finish as well. P: Thick, creamy body with pretty mild carbonation. O: I had been wanting to try this for some time, and it certainly doesnít disappoint. Big, burly, maybe a bit cloying in its richness but damned good nonetheless.

35,5cl bottle (2014) probably from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. Pours close to clear copper, but with some sediments, and a modest off-white head. Aroma of bourbon, oak and vanilla, quite massive at first. Sweet dried fruits, caramel, mild spices and some earthy and roasty notes. Massive, complex and very sweet. Certainly a sipper. A bit to sweet and heavy for my taste, but also a quite delicious winter warmer. Hmmm, maybe Iíll try it again next winter.

Bottle at home. Sweet caramel and dried dark fruit on the nose. Dark, rich and full of flavour. Superb.

Bottle @SB. Deep brown and red color. Light brown foam, not long lasting. A very nice aroma, touch of burned sugar, vanilla. Taste is good, medium sweet and nice small bitterness. Old fruits. Really nice beer.

12 oz bottle, thanks bytemesis! Aroma consists of coconut, vanilla, wood, peat, cashew brittle, raisins. Pours muddy brown with a dissipating beige head. Taste is sweet, slightly oxidized, earthy, oaky, boozy, dark fruits. Texture is oily, body full. Nice beer, but itís a bit hot and not quite what I was expecting.

Geweldig bier ! Vanille, zoet, licht bittere smaak die lang blijft hangen. Ruikt ook heel erg lekker.

Caramel, toffee, massive vanilla tones an a little bitter oak. I love bourbon aged ales. Not a typical scottish ale, which is probably why itís better than most! Extremely good with aged cheeses!

A little too boozy for what I was hoping for. Some nice sweet caramel flavors sit amongst some dark fruit. Good, not worth the hype though.
