Blushing Monk is brewed with a ridiculous amount of raspberries and with a Belgian yeast strain that keeps our head cellar operator from sleeping for a week. It pours a stunning deep berry red and, at 9.2% ABV, has a surprising kick. The perfect dessert beer, it can be enjoyed on its own or paired with fresh cheeses, fruit, cakes and more.

First released in July 2011, rereleased in 2015.

Bottle, 75cl, at TFODRBSG-12. A dense, deep pink head of finger-thick size sits on top of a deep red body. Lots of raspberries on the nose, pushing other aromas to the far back. If thereís any...Still, itís really pleasant. Itís full-bodied, quite tart, and with a high but pleasant level of carbonation. Some sweetness in the flavor, but mostly itís sourish berries, raspberry that is. Besides the raspberries thereís not much else going on flavorwise. Itís certainly one dimensional, but damn pleasant anyway. 120818

Bottle @ Summer Gathering, Ulfborg. Nice head with good duration. Color is ruby. Aroma and taste are pure raspberries and not at all artificial. Notes of malt and citrus as well, but pretty much just raspberries and very well done.

Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet but tart on the finish, pretty clean, with loads more jammy fruit, raspberry preserve, cherry. Great stuff.

Reddish-brown colour. No head. Rich raspberry jam aroma. Lots of sugar. Jammy and fruity and light malts underneath. Well made, if not something I would drink all that often.
