Bottle from Charles Street Liquors. Maybe the best fruit beer I’ve ever had, and by that I mean ’maybe better than Kuhnhenn’s framboise.’ But where the Kuhn’s miracle is making a barrell-aged beer taste like a raspberry tree, Founders’ claim to fame is they make a 12.3% raspberry beer not taste like raspberry vodka (read: DOGFISH FORT) but candy! That one wouldn’t hesitate to give their own children! This beer is a milestone. Acknud (772), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 6, 2008 Awesome fruit beer. Aroma of raspberries bursts from its crimson colored bed. Taste is a raspberry overload with a nice malt base. gunhaver (1025), Tampa, Florida, USA

Big raspberries in the nose, and a malty base comes through. Some cinnamon, too. Very tasty, alcohol is undetected through the bushels of raspberries and spicy finish. Incredibly drinkable and easy to finish. BOLTZ7555 (1077), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 1, 2008 Acquired via trade with holdenn. THANKS MATT!!! Crimson body with a razor-thin head. Aroma is dark fruit and natural sweetness. Not just raspberry but hints of cherry skin. The flavor is biting sour/tart raspberry that surrounds the tongue and requires a pucker!!! The ample carbonation dances on the tongue and the 12.3% ABV is hardly noteable. Tasty and glad I had a chance to try!!! decaturstevo (1985), decatur, Tennessee, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 26, 2008 A- Pours a deep red color with little to no head.
S- Smell is very sweet, predominately raspberries with light bready notes.
T- Starts off very sweet, raspberries and moves into a tart, astringent, dry, citrusey flavor and ends with an off flavor some people have characterized as "band-aid" but I think it is just the alcohol masked by some of the other flavors which creates a bit of an undesirable tone.
M- Very dry, crisp, thick with quite a bit of carbonation.
D- Definitely a desert beer, for the 12 percent alcohol this one is extremely drinkable. It doesn’t quite measure up to raspberry tart but it’s hard to hold that against it.
