jbuzz (658), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Feb 11, 2008 Had at a tasting at Three Cellars. A very good Fruit Beer. If you like Rasberries that is. Slightly on the sweet side not much taste of the beer side. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA Feb 3, 2008 Pours a reddish/pinkish hue with a very small pink head. Nose is definitely raspberries. Nice and full edge. Flavor is definitely fruity and full of raspberries. But this tastes like Kool-Aid with alcohol in it to me. A bit too one sided with not a lot of complexity to it. The feel has a great level of carbonation that just soothes the mouth. Overall though, this leaves a lot to be desired. No complexity and too much kool-aid-ness. I’d pass on this next time I think.
aracauna (2357), Georgia, USA Feb 2, 2008 Pours a clear purpley read with very little head. The aroma is big raspberry, a bit like Chambord. The flavor is decidedly tart, but like fruit juice. This is surprisingly good. There’s no hint of the strength of the beer at all in the flavor or aroma. tjthresh (1746), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Feb 2, 2008 22 ounce bottle. Pours red-purple with a very fizzy pink head. Huge nose of ripe raspberries. The flavor is raspberry syrup with a chalky finish. High carbonation. Medium body. I suppose this is a well executed beer, just not something I would be interested in drinking again. jstraw (750), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 31, 2008 Red with good, creamy pink head / Nose of raspberries and malt / Medium body with moderate sweetness and good, tart finish / Good, complex flavors of raspberry liqueur and sour malt, and tart apple finish / I’d call it a good raspberry cider. inultus (16), Lansing, Michigan, USA Jan 25, 2008 This beer rocks. at 12% you would think it would taste overly strong, but the fruit is over the top and I love it. Almost like a port, you definitely want the proper glass for this so that you can savor the aroma and even the appearance.
Even non-micro drinkers can be converted by this one, especially girls, IMO. Bertrand (7), Grand Rapids / Chicago, Michigan, USA does not count Jan 12, 2008 absolutely love this beer...picked up 650ml bottle in Grand Rapids (not Founders)...tastes like amazing raspberry champagne...hides 12.3% well...true raspberry flavor, just enough sour and bitter, not like raspberry candy...I could drink this everyday...paid $14 in GR, saw it for $16 at Binny’s in Chicago 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA Jan 1, 2008 Bottle: Deep red, darker than blood, almost brownish but with big pink highlights.   Head falls quickly, was a pinkish fizzly
sorta start.   Lacing is spotty, at best.   Fruity nose, also very vinous.   Seems like a cross between a Raspberry wine cooler
and straight up wine.   Very minor alcohol, and when I say minor I mean minor.   Wow!   This one does have some fruity flavor
that not only is fairly strong, doesn’t taste artificial, all while having a tart aspect to it that just zings!   Hot damn this tastes
good.   Unlike other really good Fruit Beers, this one does not get cloying.   It has a tart factor that is just appropriate for
this one.   12.3% ABV?   You gotta be kidding me.   Drinks much lighter than that.   Well hidden then ey?   Fruity,
slightly dry, certainly tart, with a clean fruity finish.   Damn, this is much better than I anticipated.   The tartness, and the
dry factor for this beer just grab me.   Next to their Breakfast stouts, this has got to be one of my favorite Founders brews.
In looking at the list of Founder’s brews, these guys make some very fine examples.   I wished we had this stuff out in
Washington.   The body and mouthfeel on this one are superb, moderate to full, dry, tart, and just so delicious.   I wished I had
another bottle to follow up with this one, and one after that, and one after that, and so on.   Clean finish, dry, tart, fruity, and who
woulda thunk this is 12.3% ABV.   Great brew, even better brewers!   Styles, I am sure glad you sent one my way!
