Founders hit it out of the park with this one. Pours a raspberry red in color with some nice carbonation bubbles filling the top of the glass. Smell is tart raspberries. Taste is much the same. Amazing enough, I didn’t tire of it by the end of the bomber. This is a very easy drinker, you get no hints of the 12.3% ABV. This was a real treat. brentfeesh (1037), Gadsden, Alabama, USA

Red tinted and beautifully carbonated. The aroma is sweet tarts and Belgian yeast. The flavor is nothing if not raspberry sweet tart. You could say there are malts and other Belgian hints but really just raspberry sweet tart on top of a crisp carbonated wine like brew. Medium body and very drinkable. I’ll have to see if I can get some more of this. Even my mom liked it. heemer77 (4303), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 7, 2007 Not a bad brew, but I was expecting more since I really like Rübæus. The body was cloudy red. The aroma was raspberry with some cellar type funk. There was also pancakes and maple syrup. The taste was fairly sour with some tart raspberry. There was also a little bit of leather and apple core. Not a bad effort, but I wanted a little more. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA

Pours a deep cranberry juice red with a thin pink head that reduces quickly. Big, solid, tart raspberries on the nose (and perhaps a hint of candy sugar). I’ve never smelled a fruited beer that smells more like fresh fruit than this one. Medium-bodied and lightly effervescent with a tart and mildly dry finish. Sweet and tart raspberry with a nice lightly dry finish. This is probably the best fruit beer that I’ve sampled to date, but at $17 a bomber I’d have to say that Rübæus (Blushing Monk’s "smaller" sibling) is the better value. barleyPops (1079), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 4, 2007 Its all about the raspberries with this beer. Raspberries from the aroma to the finish...and did I mention the alcohol? Who would have thought a fruit beer would be 12%. Very sweet, too sweet after awhile. A great fruit beer every once in awhile, but not something I would consistently drink. waolsen (1222), Littleton, Colorado, USA
