4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 madvike (1477) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 28, 2010
Bottle shared by StFun...thanks Josh! - Pours pink and rosy, with a bubbly off-white head. Tons of deep, overripe raspberries on the nose, though it’s lightly soapy and not too terribly sweet. The taste however, is the star here. The smooth overripe raspberry flesh is one of the most realistic I’ve tasted and reminds me a bit of the New Glarus Raspberry Tart. Pretty sweet, but has a decent amount of malt to offset it a bit. Syrupy and smooth, with great carbonation. This was a treat.

Sample thanks to StFun! Hazy dark red pour, average amount of carbonation and an aroma of slightly funky raspberries. Flavor is vibrant and tangy muddled raspberries and slightly sour on the aftertaste. I can’t believe this is 12% ABV, dangeroursly drinkable and delicious.

Bottle shared by James, big thanks! Poured a hazy deep raspberry with a reddish off-white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was full of sweet and tart raspberries and a decent alcohol burn. Flavor was similar with tart and sweet raspberries somewhat balancing a pretty strong alcohol burn.

RBSG 10 grand tasting. Pours a deep almost a purple color with a awesome head and some good lace. The aroma is jammy and lightly boozy with tons of raspberry. The flavor is lots of fruit, sweet raspberries and some spiciness, mostly all sorts of raspberry jam. Pretty tasty.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 KyotoLefty (3760) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUL 28, 2010
Got to try this at the grand tasting, RBSG. Amazing raspberry aroma, big flavor. No indication whatsoever of that 12+% alcohol. Well balanced, refined, luscious. Not too sweet, as the tartness balances well. Love it.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 TheAlum (3299) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - JUL 25, 2010
Sampled at the RBSG Summer Grand Tasting (Grand Rapids, MI). Pours a mellow reddish copper, light haze, very juice like with loose offwhite head dies to a small film. Aromas are raspberries, pretty sweet and a bit tart, a touch of malt but very juice forward. Initial is sweet, thinner side of medium bodied, light offwhite head ring. Sweet raspberries, touch of tartness.. Not overly sweet, but a bit juicy, touch of spritzy fizziness. Finish is mellow sweetness, raspberry puree, juice. Not bad, glad to try. Amazing that this carries the ABV it does.. Doesn’t seem that way.

Pours red with a white head. Aroma is rasberries and the taste is tart rasberry. Alcohol is hidden extremely well.
4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Damico (1403) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 8, 2010
UPDATED: APR 29, 2011 The aroma is perfect, a raspberry sweetness and tartness blending together perfectly in the flavor as well. The appearance is dark crimson with a small head. This is one of the smoothest krieks of all time, especially for domestic. The flavors of warm raspberry and smooth tart come through perfectly on a great body, like a decent-bodied lambic.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 scraff (2120) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAY 2, 2010
22oz - Dark red, thin wispy pinkish white head. Deep jammy raspberry aromas warm to soft notes of lactic strawberry-apple and cranberry. Soft tart raspberry puree-like flavors round with a just a touch of caramelized sugar cane. ABV is well hidden. Full bodied, soft carbonation, fruity finish. This one has aged with grace….
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 markwise (2914) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - APR 25, 2010
Thanks to sebletitje for the share. Pours reddish brown with an off-white head. Nose is malt, raspberries, booze, some floral qualities and fruit. Flavor is similar with lots of raspberries, malt, some sugar, and other misc berries. Finish lingers with fermented raspberries. It is exactly what it states: a Belgian Ale with Raspberries..
