courtesy of frampin.
pours nice rosée/reddish, white pinkish head.
aroma, loaded with nice raspberry puree, hints of tartness.
flavors, just tons of raspberries, clocking at 12.3% this was a superb beer to sip on, the tart flavor was mild and enjoyable compared to how other beers tend to come out when using raspberries. Touch of yeast in the mouthfeel with a mild sweet mouthfeel.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 ditmier (1509) - Boise, Idaho, USA - FEB 20, 2010
2008 Bottle I think - Thanks mibirdier!!! - Pours dark clear red with a small pinkish head...aroma is lactic red fruit skins, raspberry, slight toffee...flavour packs a punch, tannic, underripe raspberries, raspberry/cherry syrup...the lactic element kept this on the nice side of sticky, and the alcohol, while noticable, was expected and worked well...very fun brew...
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 kramer (3457) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 28, 2010
22 oz bottle. Pours a clear bright pink body with a small fizzy pink tinged white head that faded to a thin ring. Big bright raspberry nose with a bit of tartness. A slight alcohol note as well. Big tart raspberry flavor, very natural tasting. Thick chewy caramel maltiness below with a very warming finish. The fizzy active carbonation keeps this from being too sweet and clingy. By the end of the bomber the raspberry started to be a little cloying and overpowering though. Still pretty decent for such a big beer.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ricke (476) - Malme, SWEDEN - JAN 22, 2010
Bottle.
Dark ruby color with a small pinkish head.
The aroma is of prominent cherries and a whiff of alcohol. Perhaps a note of grass and cherry pits, not much more.
The taste is, well, eventful. Sweet cherries at first, then malts and tart cherries, then a mix of chemical alcohol and cherry notes in the finish. The cherry flavors are dangerously close to candy land, but manages for the most part to stay decent. The finish is not very integrated - alcohol, faint malts and chemical cherries.
Full body, kind of sticky texture.
This is decent at best. Although I have to admit that the alcohol is well hidden relative to the strength, but it still suffers from too prominent alcohol flavors.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 MeadMe (977) - Riverview, Florida, USA - JAN 10, 2010
A: Pours a beautiful ruby red color with a nice thin white bubbly head. Lots of bubbles rise to the top in an attempt to keep the head afloat, but alas it dies down.
S: Nice tart raspberries with a hint of pure cane sugar. The aroma alone makes this one worth buying.
T: Nice tart Raspberry with a hint of sugar. Very nice balance between sweet and tart. There is a hint of spice hiding below which makes this one really drinkable.
M: Nice light sparkling and refreshing.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 andersand (491) - Malmö, SWEDEN - DEC 28, 2009
Deep red with a small greyish pinkish head. Aroma is pure and straightforward synthetic raspberry with perhaps a very subtile doughy note shining through. Flavour is big alcohol sweetness, raspberry sweetness and light tartness (thank god) leading to a dry slightly chemical finish with additional synthetic fruit notes. Mouthfeel is medium and slightly sticky but with lively carbonation saving this beer from being close to undrinkable. The ABV is very well hidden which makes this raspberry bomb the ultimate date rape beer.

bomber - via ?? at a long-ago LS tasting; dark red and hazy with thin off-white head; fruity, tart, smooth, sweet and generally kick ass across the board; lots of raspberries, strawberries and sugar; maybe a tad too sweet for me, but very nice overall
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 dmac (2658) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - NOV 11, 2009
22 oz bomber from Capones. Wow this is more dangerous then Snake Eyes from G.I. Joe. Superstrong and devilishly sweet with just enough carbonation and maltiness to make you remember this is a beer. Poured a hazed lavender body with a large bubbly slightly pink head. Aroma is very tart with lots of raspbery, slight alcohol hit, honey, mead qualities, yeast and bread. The body is full with a god dose of carbonation and some alcohol warming but nowhere near the 12.3% would lead you to believe it should be. The flavor has some serious Belgian yeast up front with lots of tart raspberry, honey, bread, mead, yeast. This is one seriously strong fruit beer that has been done right just like most of their other beers, LONG LIVE FOUNDERS!!!!
4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 HopHobo (12) - Lansing, Michigan, USA - NOV 9, 2009
UPDATED: NOV 19, 2009 Just had this beer the other day at the Brewery in Grand Rapids. This is one exceptional beer! Labeled as a Belgian Trippel fermented with raspberries and the ABV is 12.3%. Kind of a champagne type mouth feel with huge amounts of raspberry aroma and taste. You would never know that this beer is as high in ABV as it is indicated because is it is dangerously smooth going down. It would be easy to call this a "chick beer" because of the flavor, but I would venture to guess that even the biggest of beer drinkers would have a short night after a couple of glasses of this beer. That being said this beer is my wifes favorite and it is simply delicious for a fruit beer. I’m still much more of a KBS fan, but this is a nice touch to drink on occasion.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Narnad (1147) - Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA - NOV 6, 2009
Pours from the bottle a very deep red with a very high carbonation rate but no head. Aroma is very strong of raspberry, tart nose, mild orange citrus note and overall sweet profile. Flavor starts off with a strong sweet raspberry punch that quickly fades to a fantastic tartness that makes you squint a bit and ends with a strong Merlot type of dark fruit note. Body of the brew is heavy with a thinner bubbly body. Alcohol is almost non-existent in the nose and flavor, making it pretty dangerous. Overall a fantastic brew. The tartness in the flavor really makes this a special brew but it is a brew that best be savored on special occasions with friends or family.
