Pours a deep red with the slightest of heads even with a very vigorous pour. Aroma is vinuous and full of raspberry along with some grape and strawberry. The slightest bit of funk is in there too, but in a pleasant manner. Flavor is very similar to the Rubaeus, but has a bolder flavor and a greater level of tartness...this one makes you pucker at the end. Lots of raspberry and again, very vinuous in nature. I caveat that I’m a fan of fruit beers, and this one drank more like a sweet wine than a beer...not wonderful, but a very solid beer!

22oz bottle-Pours a nice ruby red with a small ring for a head. Aroma of raspberry, sweetness, and slight yeast. Taste of tartness, sourness, raspberry, and a bit of yeast. This light bodied brew is a little too tart but at 12.3% it hides the alcohol very very well. A nice tasty brew.

Pours a red hue with no head. Jelly doughnut aroma, with some sugar, and some alcohol. Grape flavor with some tart in the finish. Beer is very wine-like taste wise. Vinegar in it as well. Medium texture with light carbonation.

Bottle on 11/30/2008 at the 3rd Annual Richmond Industry Gathering. Clear pink amber body with a small light pink head. Sweet wine aroma with some light fruit. Very sweet grape and wine flavor with light belgian character. Medium light body with moderately high carbonation.

Bottle thanks to RCL. Pours with a hazy deep reddish-purple body. Purple tinged off-white head. Good lacing and decent retention. Aroma of raspberries down to the seeds, syrup, alcohol, toffee, leather, brown sugar and cotton candi. Taste is sweet but not cloying, and then pretty tart with raspberries. Really long (over a minute) duration. No alcohol at all in the flavor. Slightly dry mouthfeel with light bubbles. Interesting beer that really grew on me!

Acquired via trade with Styles. Thank you for helping me finally track this one down. Pours a lot like Dieu du Ciel Hibiscus. Subtle raspberry aroma builds into an aggressive flavor that features tart raspberries. I was expecting more syruppy sweetness from sugar, but this brew somehow manages to masque the alcohol content naturally. Well done.

Vintage 2007. Hazy garnet pour. Thick strawberry milkshake colored head and picture perfect spotty lace. Sweet fresh raspberry aroma. Yeast and raspberry upfront. Slight tart and dry finish. Alcohol is really well masked. Fruit beers usually are not my thing, but this was amazing

22 oz bottle. Good sweet and tart raspberries and some angel food cake in the nose. Minor pink cream bubble head on the pour, decent lacing, very opaque, not overly thick yet very cloudy, and a color blend of marroon rust. Slightly puckering raspberry sour hard candy is prominent, maybe a little cherry in there but the sweet fruity profile is not entirely of raspberry to me, minor belgian malt in the background, light and fluffy white bread, decent acidity, a very tart linger and finish, and a nice feeling overall with the consistancy of a medium bodied red wine. Although a beer this sweet and fruity is not usually my cup of tea, this one worked out very well for me, and would recommend this one to all of my beer nah sayer friends.
