Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Dec 7, 2008 A deep ruby red ale with a thick collapsing light pink head. A pleasant aroma of pomegranate and raspeberries, sweet candy notes. In mouth, a sweet sourish ale with raspberry mash, lingering tartness, like Amsterdam Framboise, but better. Bottle from Inertiaboy. shared Aug. 2008, while harvesting his hops. jeffwilliams11 (310), hooterville, Michigan, USA Nov 29, 2008 22oz bottle shared at hopcat...pours clear ruby red with very small fading head. flavor is wonderful real raspberries, tart, acidic. not very sweet, but very drinkable. bottle was marked 13.5%, which is not noticable at all. FROTHINGSLOSH (1961), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 27, 2008 Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright berry red color with a small pink head that faded quickly. The flavor was tart, tangy and sweetish with strong notes of berry. The flavor was very tart and sour berry with yeasty undertones and a long tart berry finish. The mouthfeel was moderately thick. The alcohol was very well hidden. Not sweet enough for me though. Interesting. HonkeyBra (1275), Lemont, Illinois, USA Nov 26, 2008 Pours a deep ruby with a thin white ring around the glass. Raspberry aroma with some spice or grain? Tart raspberry flavor with a bit of bready malt in the background. Alcohol is undetectable. Thinnish mouthfeel with low carbonation. This is like triple New Glarus Raspberry tart. Good. Homer321 (127), Rockledge, Florida, USA Nov 20, 2008 courtesy of mcbackus. full of cherries and rasberries! This really lives up to the labelling! slightly tart and belgian-like. kind of like a knock off of New Glarus Belgian Red. slightly dry, almost choking. Not a beer I would go out of my way to get. chicagodri (1020), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 25, 2008 Pours a dark red with a thin pink head. Aroma is a lot of sweet raspberry. Ton of sweet raspberries in the flavor, some malt. I thought it hid the 12.3% pretty well. I will get this again, good stuff. ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Oct 19, 2008 Appearance: Pours a dark, rubyish body with a foamy, fizzy, off-white head with a touch of pink to it.
Smell: Raspberries, baby! A rich, juicy, perfumy, somewhat sweet-smelling aroma of fresh fruit. When it comes to raspberries, Founders doesn’t screw around.
Taste: Ahh, juicy, sweet raspberry nectar with a light tartness. Slight cherry character as well. Faint touch of booze. Profound concentrated fruit flavor from beginning to end. Warming, drying, slightly spicy finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Excellent! An impressive, sumptuous brew that delivers tons of great flavors and a punchy alcohol percentage, yet it remains very, very drinkable. It’s no Dogfish Head Fort (thankfully). Love me some Blushing Monk! mcbackus (725), Merritt Island, Florida, USA Oct 19, 2008 bottle: pours a dark berry red with a very little wihte head. aroma is very beery lots of raspberry adn slight cherry, some belgina yeast adn sweet malts to flutter in. flavour is very rasperry almost all fruit slight tartness with a unique belgain yeast twist.
