MiBGF 07: Ruby red with a lasting fizzy pink head. The aroma has notes of sweet and tart raspberries, bready malts, and some vinous alcoholic vapours. The taste starts with a nice balance of fruit and caramel with biscuity malt. A dry woody and subdued spiced finish rounds off the tasting. The mouth feel is lush and oily but yet quite refreshing due to the acidity. The alcohol found on the nose is not very apparent on the palate, dangerously drinkable. Not quite sure why this has the word Belgian in the name for I found no Belgian character with this beer, a nice fruit imbued American Strong Ale.

Sampled from 22-oz bomber at Cellars Wine & Spirits in St Paul, Minnesota. Shared by BDR. Pours a hazy rusty red brew with a thin light pink head that slowly dissipates to a fine pink film top. Aroma of tart raspberries, mild white bready malt, a touch of yeast and some barn yard funk. Taste is medium bodied, well-carbonated with flavors of tart raspberries, multi-grain bread-like malt with some yeast character. Finish is mildly bitter and tart with a lingering tart berry aftertaste. Not the Flemish sour caliper beer but still enjoyable.

On tap at the Great Taste of the Midwest. This was an absolutely beautiful pour... deep, seductive raspberry with a stout pink head. Nose was of fresh, tart, ripe raspberries with some wheaty notes and darker fruits lurking in there. The flavor was about the same... tart fresh raspberries washed over the tongue with the other supportive maltage below and tough to pick out... alcohol lets you know that it’s in there, but never becomes oppressive (pretty much hits you 8 minutes after you finish the drink). Tart and sweet notes dominate the palate, making it tough to drink too much. Excellent beer overall!

Draft @ Founders: Amber color with a purple hue and a light pink head. Huge fruity raspberry aroma. the flavor was tart and tangy and full of raspberry. Man this is tasty. I can drink it for a while. You can’t pick up the alcohol in it. Very very dangerous.

Bomber shared with Jason,Derek, and a couple of newbies thank you Jason. Is it 9 or is it 13%? Bottle aged for a year says 13.2% and it could very well be. Amaxing fruitbeer. Dark pink with big soapy pink head and pink lace. Aroma of raspberry and some malt. Big mouthfeel, raspberry, tart raspberry. The taste is a beer with very raspberry, she delivers. Good drinkability. Carobonated too. Natural sugars.

Draught. At 2006 Michigan Brewers’ Guild Festival. Shocking hazy bright cherry-red with a tin pinkish-white head. Aroma of roses and berry fruit, very sweet, hint of tart sparkling wine. Sweet berryfruit taste with strong cheap slightly sour sweet white wine. Sticky and fizzy on the palate, a long cloying aftertaste to it - if an incredibly sweet alco-bev is what you want, you might like this.

Michigan Brewers Festival 2006. Bright red body. Big fruity aroma, sweet with some sour cherry notes. Mildly sour cherry, and other fruit, touch of sweet cough syrup. Average to medium palate. Reminds me of Belle Vue Kriek a bit in its sweetness. Interesting that I attributed the fruit character to cherry not knowing it was raspberry. ABV did not taste like 10% at all. 6/3/6/3/13 - 3.1

Bottle shared by Vferg. This is the rubaeus on crak. Pours a redish purple pulp into my glass with a quick stream of co2 shooting to the top. Sour raspberries, almost neutral ph and heavily carbonated. Of the 4 or times i’ve had this, this is the most enjoyment i’ve had by far. Mouthwateringly great.
