Thick, sudsy pink foam for a head, settles to light webby lacing and a slim rim. Huge raspberry nose--just acres and acres of fresh raspberries on the vine in a hot summer field, though with some white sugar added, so ya don’t wanna go too crazy with the au naturel points, I guess. Thick but not sticky or syrupy body with some carb, though not a ton of the bubble stuff. Heavy syrupy concentrate flavors but not in a synthetic way--just very condensed jammy fruit. Some white sugar also seems present. Not much happening in the way of ale-y flavors. Long fruity sticky finish. core (19), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 16, 2007 Bottle, thanks sersdf. This thing looks pretty awesome - like pureed raspberries. Totally opaque and deep purple-red in color. Thin white head that leaves an oily slick. Smells like raspberry sorbet. Some lemon in there, not hugely interesting in its smell. Some of the alcohol comes through. Tons of small bubbles. Tart raspberry and sour cherries in the flavor. Nice beer. Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

The taste was of sweet/tart raspberries with some yeast coming in. Al ittle syrupy with alcohol well hidden. eaglefan538 (2405), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 15, 2009 Bottle shared by Swolf3 at the NSSMNSLT. Pour was a brilliant deep garnet color, small frothy pink-purple colored head. The aroma was rich firm raspberries displaying also some tartness. No oak or wood, a little sticky even in the nose, aside from the tart notes. The flavor followed, pretty one dimensional on the raspberries, yet still quite a nice job. A good job playing sweet AND tart raspberries throughout. Alcohol was way smootho for the ABV. Not as complex as the NG Raspberry Tart, not as amazing as the DFH Fort in depth and complexity (at even greater ABVs), yet still near the top of the fruit beer class. Thanks, Steve, a fun one! And boy, Founders sure can make some fun stuffs! shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 6, 2007 9/05/2007: Founder’s Blushing Monk pours out a clear red color is a slight violet hue to it. The head is thin and foamy and is also has a violet-colored tinge to it. The aroma is loaded with ripe raspberries fresh from the vine with a hint of dark chocolate in the background. The slightly sweet flavor is mostly raspberry and could probably pass in a blind tasting as a fruity red wine. There is a hint of tartness in the finish (just like real raspberries have!). The body of this beer is medium-light and it is softly carbonated and smooth on the palate. Bluching Monk is a great fruit beer and is even better than the <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/founders-rübæus/ Rübæus!

One of my favorite brews from founders and sampled on many occasions. Tart jammy raspberry aroma and flavor, easy to drink, and a great buzz to go with it. I love this stuff.
