Draft. Amber pour, frothy lacing. Smell is swwwt bourbon and vanilla. Flavor is a bit hot. Definitely a pale ale underneath. Interesting.

This is by far my favorite whiskey inspired beer. Tastes as closed to the real drink as can be with a beer. Fantastic!

Why would you bother to barrel age and EPA for a year and half? This mostly just tastes like barrel water. Pours blonde with ok head and lacing. Finishes like bourbon, tastes like bourbon. Texture like bourbon with the ice cubes melted in it. Tap at Founders event at Churchkey.

draft at Founders, clean golden pour, medium to lighter bodied. bourbony & vanilla notes. was not crazy about this one. too simple of a base beer to fully grasp barrell aging perhaps

Draft at brewery. Nice, unusual: bourbon aging a pale ale. It works! Bourbon on the nose and first hit on the palate, then a boozy, smooth creamy beer with little hoppiness or malt.

Draft in snifter. Pale, light gold. Aroma: medium bourbon, bread dough. Taste: smooth, light bourbon followed by mild bread dough and thin finish. Aging a pale ale in bourbon barrel seems strange, but it resulted in an interesting, beer unlike anything I have had.

On tap at brewery. Aroma and taste are overwhelmingly bourbon. Quite sweet as well.

Draft at butcher and the boar. Oak immediately evident in the nose. Hazy gold with a beautiful white head and lace that develops even before the first sip. Disappointing. Bourbon first flavor and a thin, dry finish. Expected more sweetness from 7.2%.

Wow sweet chewy bourbon, caramel, hay, bananas, and a ton of candy sweetness. Im not a huge fan of this. Comeon founders.

Échantillonné du Extreme beer fest 2014: Un liquide facile à boire malgré la présence démesurée de la vanilline. En la respirant on a l’impression d’être devant un verre de bourbon mais l’alcool ne se manifeste jamais en bouche.
