Commercial Description:
You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

4 pack from Lukas liquors in STL. Pours black with a tan head that settles quickly. Strong nose of coffee and chocolate. Taste is incredible...huge semi sweet chocolate and java.. Smooth mouth feel from the oat. Nice staining on the glass. A much try!!!

Deliciously complex and well blended aroma, but not very strong. Coffee, caramel, and vanilla are predominant, but charred oak, raisins, and molasses are also easily detectable. Deep dark brown, slightly viscous pour, headless. The flavor is strongly of espresso with pruny vanilla undertones and a lasting charcoal finish. Nice mouthfeel, medium body, a little light on the carbonation. A tad off balance toward the dry side. A stout lover’s wet dream. Pretty freaking awesome!

12 oz. bottle. Dry aroma of roasted coffee with a touch of cream. Pours a dark brown with a moderate amount of relatively dark, grayish-tan head. Produces good lacing. The taste is overly bitter with a sweet, fruity finish. Coffee and alcohol flavors. I don’t like coffee, so this doesn’t do much for me. It does become more bearable on multiple sips. Burnt, dry aftertaste that is not good. Moderate body. Creamy in the palate. Easy to drink. This seems like a relatively well-made if simplistic brew. Given its strong reputation, I was hoping the beer would be good enough to overcome the coffee additive, but it’s not. It literally left a bad taste in my mouth. Oh well; it’s just another reminder to stay away with anything contaminated by coffee.

From the tap. Black with tan, slowly dissipating head. Sweet malty aroma. Taste: Nothing at first and then…there it is! Rich chocolaty taste slides over your tongue, with just a little bit of coffee bitterness in there to add character. Very delicious.

From a 12 oz bottle into a snifter. Pours with one finger of dark brown/gray head which dissipates very quickly. Aroma is all about coffee, maybe a little bit of chocolate but the coffee is where it’s at. Mouthfeel is very nice, thick and creamy. I’ve tried a taste of it on draft and it was even better. Taste is a mix of chocolate and coffee with an underlying tartness that’s common to most oatmeal stouts. All flavors blend together nicely and don’t leave an overly cloying aftertaste in the mouth. Alcohol is present but very subdued. An overall excellent beer. It’s on the pricey side but worth a taste.

pours a dark black with a small head that retreats quickly. aroma is strong with dominant tones of roasted coffee and a touch of caramel, malt shows nicely, but is a bit one dimensional. mouthfeel is great, carbonation is just right and goes down rich and creamy, like melted chocolate. a very nice stout, and definitely drinkable for breakfast!

Fluffy foamy peaty head w/ opaque motor oil pour, thick nutty roasted aroma tinged with sweetness, smooth round mouthfeel, heavy roasted flavor w/ slight notes of chocolate
