You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

12 oz. bottle. My 100th beer picked on the forum and boy did they choose well! Pours pitch black like used oil with a monsterous creamy brown head. The head is very slow to fade and a sticks to the glass the whole way down, leaving glorius lacing. The aroma is huge. From two feet away I can smell chocolate and roasted malt. As I get closer, I pick up big coffee notes, hints of ripe fruit, and oats. Creamy, thick, and viscous on the tongue. Oily and coating all the way down. The balance here is extraordinary. The palate is awash with chocolate, coffee, deeply roasted malt, oats, and a touch of dark fruit. A bitter chocolate taste lingers in the mouth. Heavy, rich and absolutely decadent!

12 oz bottle. This pours very dark brown with almost no head. Has an aroma of coffee, and chocolates. Flavor is similar with a hint of bitter and oats. All in all a pretty good brew. ($9.99/4pk)

Roasted coffee aroma with some salty notes, lasting head, good roasted coffee taste with balsy bitterness in the end. Would have appreciated this even more if a certain european beer involved with those darn weasels wouldn’t have come and triumphed over this. Really good stuff and damn if I could get this here by the dozen I would.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2009 Bottle brought along by Craig and tasted at Fin and Craigs pre Cropredy Festival mini tasting at Merton, Oxon 12-08-09 Pours pitch black with a tan head. The aroma is coffee and also a ouch of resin is noted. Coffee rush in the mouth, its creamy, some chocolate, roasty malts, even a slight sourness on the edge which tastes great. Quite lovely and really quite distinctive with that Founders thumbprint coming through, I can’t describe it but there is some unique quality that sets there beers apart. The US Impy Stouts won out tonight against their UK counterparts but it wasn’t all one way traffic. A8 A4 F8 P4 Ov16 4.0

I would actually drink this for breakfast. And then again the next day for breakfast if there were any left. this poured silky smooth as if it were straight from a oil pan. Lovely flavor!

On tap and poured into a snifter this beer produced a midnight black color with a nice 2 finger espresso colored head. The smell is of dark roasted malts and chocolate. Flavor consists of chocolate and bitter coffee/oats on the follow through. The beer is very thick, filling, creamy and satisfying. I would order this again and again.

Definitely not as good as the Kentucky breakfast stout, but very good in its own right. Aroma of chocolate and coffee, nice mixture. Really nice body of chocolate and coffee notes in taste. Nice beer.

Bottle thanks to tarheels86. Deep and dark in the glass with a creamy tan head. Nose is chocolate, coffee, oats and malt. Taste is strong and same as the nose. Deep and rich. Smooth and full in the mouth.

Bottle thanks to aplusbreaks. Pours a dark black color with a nice medium light brown creamy head. The aroma is rich coffee, loads of it. Some chocolates also. The flavor is rich as hell; loads of creamy and milky coffee, roasted coffee bean and malts, chocolates, oats and more coffee. Very creamy and filling. I’m not a coffee addict, but this is damn nice.

Nice black brew with one of the creamyest brown heads I have ever seen, lovely! Aroma is mostly coffe with notes of liqourice, chocolate and some odd chemical notes (that doesn’t disturb but adds to the dark dark character of the beer.) Flavour is creamy coffe with everything else sticking to the background. Flavourfull and rich with a rather nice creamy and full body. One of the best coffe brews I have had!
