COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

Thanks to RagallachMC, moejuck and Silphium for their generous bonus bottles. My cup runneth over. Pours black with very little head. Aroma of coffee, more coffee and roasted malt. Very rich, with coffee, sweet malts and a little chocolate. Full body and chewy taste. IMO, not an over-rated beer.

Bottle, 8.3%. Fresh coffee aroma. Pours thick and very black. Small dark brown head. Nice, creamy coffee flavour, and the same in the late aftertaste. Very late, quite distinct barley bitterness.

(sampled at the Düsseldorf RB gathering)Black coloured with a short brown layer. Thick roasted grains and rice aroma with coffee and liquorice. Light sweet flavour with roasted bitterness, full to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Fat and oily chocolate-like taste with roasted grains; dry-ish, moderately bitter finish with notes of coffee and chocolate in the aftertaste. Well rounded brew.

Pours thick and black that eventually forms into a good sized medium tan head that held together pretty well. Smell is the best I have sented in a breakfast stout yet. Taste is jsut about there with the smell, very freaking good. This is one of the best beers i’ve tried yet.

This beer is truly outstanding. It is somewhat light in flavor and flavored with coffee and smokiness. Delicious. Appearance is an inky dark with a fairly minimal dark head. Aroma is of coffee. Coffee notes permeate the taste along with a taste reminiscent of a Rauschbier. This beer feels good in the mouth and is wonderfully drinkable.

12 oz bottle. This is Espresso beer! I don’t know what else to say... it looks like coffee, smells like coffee and tastes like coffee. Therefore, it must be coffee. It drinks very smooth and has no hint of alcohol. The only negative is an odd bitter coffee taste that lingers. I’m certain you could take this to work and pass it off as COFFEE!

This poured very nicely at room tempurature and kept the smooth flavor of coffee with a slight hint of chocolate. The mouthfeel was so smooth too!! I am glad I have plenty of this beer. ;)

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2007 Bottle courtesy of Stoutlover72, thanks! Poured a deep black body with decent size head that dissolved pretty quickly. Aroma was great, coffee, chocolate and a touch of hops. Flavor was very bitter at first, not really in a bad way since I like dark bitter coffee. But in the end it seemed a little too thin. This was a good stout but nothing that wowed me like the high ratings this has. 3.8

Update. Had a fresh bottle that blew m,e away. The coffee and chocolate and sweetness of the oatmeal were a fine blend. This beer was so smooth and creamy. 4.3

Now this is truly a beer worthy of its title. Chocolate, coffee and oatmeal definitely makes your mouth water with anticipation in its aroma. Layers of complexity hit your palate and send you into visions of an early morning breakfast consisting of a good cup of joe and chocolate chip pancakes. Big mouthfeel and the sweet silky character of the lactose sugars blend beautifully with the assertive coffee flavours. Just a barely perceptible level of hops make their appearance to balance out the maltiness of this wonderful brew. A finish that just lingers on the tongue well after the experience has passed. Well done and a must try!
