You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

Bottle share with the SOBR crew at Evernote in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is espresso, coffee beans. Taste thins very quickly with slight drier / ash qualities. Based on the score (100), the expected cinnamon flavors (which I didn’t really get) and the Founders legacy...I was expecting a lot more from this beer.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Bottled 9/22/15. The pour is dark brown to about black with a lingering tan head. Big coffee and oatmeal nose. I don’t think it is an oatmeal stout but it is a breakfast stout and oatmeal is a classic breakfast offering. A bit of orange zing in the mix too. Medium to better than medium body. Coffee flavors abound. with a spent coffee grinds kind of finish. Some bitterness. I live in New Hampshire and getting this beer into the state took an act of the New Hampshire Legislature to change the alcohol labeling laws. I am pleased that we can now buy it here.

Not getting the cinnamon on the nose - coffee and licorice instead. I get it later, but in the background. Flavour is bitter coffee and dark chocolate. Delicious.

Exceptional. Cinnamon and coffee notes in the aroma. Deep dark brown head. Delicious flavors of chocolates, coffee, cereal, and a subtle cinnamon finish. A wonderfully complex and delicious stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aromas of coffee, roasted malts and chocolate with a consistent taste that follows. Coffee and chocolate are bold and powerful with a bitter, slightly boozy finish. Medium body with a light carbonation. Velvety smooth.

Bottle shared at home. Thanks to julienhuxley for the bottle. Black with some big beige bubbles for a head. Lots of coffee and dark chocolate up front, roasted grains, toast, licorice, light herbs, light rum boozy notes. Medium sweet and under medium bitter. Over medium bodied with slick feel. Decent stuff.

Tap @ basement beer bar, Aalborg. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, smoke, chocolate. Black with off-white head, none lasting. Moderate malt bitterness, light+ sweetness, alcohol sweetness. Full body, thick smooth texture, light carbonation, roasted finish, long.

Jet black with a huge whiff of coffee and dark chocolate. Plenty of coffee in the flavour too, hints of oats and licorice, plenty of cocoa and roasted malt. It’s smooth as silk, not boozy, and bitter like a morning cuppa. Superb.
