COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

Tap to snifter at Tavern on Main. Deep black pour with tan head that falls quickly. Chocolate oatmeal and coffee. This beer is simple straight forward and well put together. Well done Founders!

355 ml bottle from Les Vignerons. Almost black looking, impossibile to see through, with a nice, fluffy and persistent dark beige head. Nice lacings. Lovely inviting aroma, even though not that powerful, from what I was expecting. White chocolate, hot milk with honey, coffee beans and tons of dark malts, toasted and roasted. Maybe a subtle reminiscence of blackberries in the background too. Velvety and luscious mouthfeel, quite sweet in the beginning, but than a moderate bitterness, togheter with a slightly astringent warming sensation, take the lead. Spot on espresso coffee taste, the proper stuff. Sirupy with a moderate/high dryness, relatively good drinkability. Soft to average carbonation, medium to full body, oily texture. These are the Imperial Stouts I really like, under 9% ABV but still packing a lot of flavour and a solid complexity. Great.

Pours a black body with a tan head that ends up as a partially covering film and some foam sticking to the glass. Very inviting and strong aroma of roasted malty, milk chocolate, chocolate sauce and coffee in the back. The strong flavour has the perfect amount of coffee, it doesn’t dominate the beer at all, I actually find it more influenced by chocolate. Maybe the long time spent on a boat from the US mellowed the coffee? I also get faint fruits, some alcohol and traces of leather. The taste is moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Full body, creamy and smooth texture, soft carbonation. Brilliant!

Pitch black, minimal sized black head disappeared quickly. Aroma is dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, coffee. Cocoa bitter notes with sweetness, just great. Really thick texture, full body, flat carbonation. Long cocoa finish. Awesome.

0,33 bottle shared by mortlach during a great private tasting at my place in Rome-Italy. Thank you. This was a real gem. Pours black oil-like with a dark brown texture, medium brownish coffee foamy head. Nose: terrific! Dark chocolate, mild coffee and a soft feel of alcohol. Pleasant. Mouth: dark chocolate all the way moving to Nescafé with an elegant and sort bitter (neutral) end. The toasted malts and the predominant peculiarities of this beer nerve turn into disturbing (really unique for such a style). I would like to have it with a tiramisu.
