Style: Imperial Stout
ABV: 8.3%
Purchased at: Brother’s Market; Lisbon, IA
Pour: Thick brown/black pour with a brown head.
Aroma: Wonderful aroma of rich coffee and chocolate with roasted malts.
Flavor: Definitely a full-bodied stout. A ton of coffee and chocolate flavor with the roasted malt rounding it out nicely.
Ratebeer.com rating: 100/100
Beeradvocate.com rating: 100/100
Overall: A+
My recommendation: A go to seasonal for sure. Like I said above, you still could possibly find some on the shelves and it’s the perfect time to stock on a few four packs. A must try brew.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 AZBennett (112) - Chandler, Arizona, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Bottle courtesy of Homer321. Pours black with a nice tan head that sticks around for just the right amount of time. Aromas are coffee, coffee and more coffee then some chocolate finished off with a nice roast malt undertone. Flavors are reminiscent of a great cup of black coffee, with bitter coffee notes then just a dash of rich cream and finally more coffee this time more similar to coffee grounds. Palate is very nice, though not as thick as I supposed it would be, which suits this beer better than a hugely thick beer would. Overall this is a very nice example of a breakfast stout, just enough coffee, not much to detract from that flavor and not overwhelmingly heavy.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 PattyBat (22) - - MAY 11, 2013
Poured from a 12oz. bottle with a little head. Tastes strongly of dark chocolate and strong coffee. Oatmeal is hard to find, but there. Look forward to enjoying again.

Pours cola black with a small tan head. Aroma is espresso and dark chocolate all day with a little hint of tobacco. Taste is sweet espresso up front with a chocolatey mid palate and a smooth malt finish. Everything is well balanced and pairs well with shortbread cookies, guitars, beautiful women and fireworks.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 SlackerMads (567) - DENMARK - MAY 11, 2013
Bottle. Black with a small light brown head light lacing head. Aroma is dominated by coffee and chocolate with some burnt/hard roasted notes beneath. Light ashy and has a very light acidic touch. Taste is light/medium sweet and bitter. Medium body, oily/creamy texture, soft+ carbonation. Light dry finish with long lingering coffee and roasted notes. No noticeable alcohol and easy to drink.

Zeebra Extreme Beer Festival - It’s interesting how the intense coffee bitterness moves around the palate. Obviously coffee flavours are quite dominant. It does have an unusual almost savoury element to it though.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Borresteijn (3681) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - MAY 5, 2013
On tap at Beer Temple. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of ground coffee, chocolate, roasted malts. Flavour is medium-sweet, chocolate, light fruity, roasted malts, lots of freshly ground coffee, bitter finish. Medium-bodied at best. OK stout, but too much coffee for my liking.
