COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

BOTTLE 12 OZ. Pitch black, dark beige head. The nose is full of coffee and chocolate - a desert with lots of cocoa powder - chocolate truffle or cake. The taste is mostly (sweetened) coffee and cocoa, chocolate cake. Surprisingly easy-drinking body, and nothing (like roast or hop bitterness) standing out too much. Everyone should start his day with a beer like this. Excellent.

Picked up a four-pack at a tiny craft beer shop I was surprised to find near home. Might have been more thoughtful in picking out a 4-pack of this, which I subsequently discovered was 9 months old. To be fair to the beer, while it was mellowed out, it had held up remarkably well. I’ve had enough of this to be able to rate it fairly, and I won’t be too harsh on the store - I appreciate them trying to make a go in a Bud Light stronghold, and they also told me they had KBS for sale - I’d have never thought to ask.

Copenhagen 17/4 2016. 35,5 cl bottle from Meny. Cute infant happily gobbling his breakfast (some kind of goop I presume) on the label. Pours opaque dark dark brown with light beige head. Head settles as 1 cm thick creamy layer of foam. Lacing on the side of the glass. Aroma is of coffee, licorice and roasted malts. Carbonation is kinda soft and thick oily palate. Flavor is nicely balanced between discrete sweetness and coffee bitterness. The bitterness is pronounced in the aftertaste. I would not serve this to my infant with a spoon - it holds an ABV of 8,3 % and it would be dreadful to waste this fine stout on the little gobbler.

Half in craft beer co. Should have got a pint but I’m aiming to put a few away today and I’ve got some strong ones coming up. Anyway, excellent imperial stout - coffee, cola, burnt chips etc. I think I prefer the ten fidy better but this is superb.

Aroma: The smell is green dried peas, coffee beans and dates.
Appearance: The beer is black with a hint of brown, the head is rather small, nearly brown - a warm color. The bubbles are small, little lacing bu good curtains.
Taste: A distinct sweetness, dark tastes like dates, coffee, chocolate and licorice.
Palate: Small carbonation, a big body oily and round.
Overall: A really epic beer, very well done.
Note: bottle, sampled at beer tasting at De Klomp. Reviewed 2010-11-13.

Pours deep mahogany brown with thick tan foamy head. Aroma is dark roasts, dark coffee, dark chocolate, and hints of sweet caramel. Taste is dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, sweet dark malts, and hints of licorice and burnt caramelized sugars. Decent carbonation for the style and very satisfying mouthfeel and overall flavor. Still a true All Star.

Black color with mocha head. Aroma is full of chocolate and coffee, like a sweet coffee drink. Taste follows but more balanced, not really sweet but still chocolate and coffee forward. Really heavy and smooth body with soft carbonation. No alcohol whatsoever, extremely drinkable, smooth and tasty.

In a time where every imperial stout needs to be over 10% ABV and preferably double barrel aged, it seems almost somehow wrong to call this an imperial stout. It’s a great, balanced coffee stout that is smooth and aromatic and tastes fantastic.
