Youíve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. Weíre actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

The hype was warranted! Smokey, roasted, chocolate, vanilla aroma. Pours dark red/black. Nice head and great lacing. Mild bitterness and strong roasted malts. Very good stout.

World class stout. Poured into a dogfish goblet. Two and a half inches of mocha foam that receded, but, never went away completely. The coffee is in your face from the first sniff to the back of your palate. A bit of chocolate and sour dark fruits. The alcohol hides, until the end, as the glass empties, the alcohol makes itís presence known in olfactory and the mouth. This is my kind of beer.

Pours black with a nice brown head. Moderate to heavy coffee aromw with notes of chocolate, roasted malt, all very well balanced. Flavor is dry, moderate sweet and bitter with notes of good quality coffee, dark chocolate, some dark fruits, again all very well balanced. Superb!

11/10/2007 3:11:48 PM #800. Bottle in Northfield, Mass. As a coffee addict I have been looking forward to this one. Mud brown colour. Healthy head. Smells oaky with chocolate and coffee flavours. Really strong taste of coffee and chocolate. Malty. Smooth, creamy for a long-time. Ends a bit sharper--then dries up. Very nice. Would get higher score if choco/coffee wasnít so overpowering and had more prounounced texture.

Black beer with a easy formation of tan head. Very nice lacework. Aroma has dark coffee notes with chocolate, wood and burnt malts. Flavour is toasty, roasty, smooth, with moccha hints, dark chocolate and a final moderate bittery. Dense on palate with a dark coffee aftertaste. Carbonation is soft to medium.

Keg at The London Craft Beer Festival. A black colour with a frothy mocha head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, slight vanilla, subtle smoke and some oatmeal. Taste of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, slight vanilla, subtle toffee and a little prune. Full bodied and a smooth texture. A deep, roasted coffee bitterness in the finish. A full bodied, full on roasted coffee and chocolate stout, so rich and smooth too. These guys know how to brew a great stout.

Chocolate chocolate chocolate! In the bouquest up front, in the first sip, middle palaeye and long finish. Hints of coffee and vanilla with very subtle bitterness to balance it somewhat (still sweet). Magic!

Fles meegebracht uit tallinn. Zwart met een bruine kraag. Geur is donkere chocolade en koffie en cacao. Smaak begint bitterzoet met koffie, cacao en een beetje caramel. Mooi rond met een diepe volle afdronnk. Nais.

(on Tap) Poured very dark with a tan head. Looked to be very carbonated and was bubbling over. Somewhat oily texture. The aroma is of coffee. It didnít feel carbonated at all when I drank it but it was like an expresso. Pure coffee flavor and nothing else. Tastes like wet coffee grounds. Itís not too bitter or harsh like some other coffee based stouts but this is not my preferred style. Reminded me of Old Rasputin but stronger. If this is what you like then give it a try but its not for me.
