3.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Did not get a head on this when poured from bottle to glass. Seems a bit flat but the aroma and taste make up for it. Lots of coffee flavor with some hits at the chocolate. Kinda like a mocha with a slight alcohol twang to it. Got a 4 pack so hopefully the other 3 will have some fizz so that I can get that nice thick head that I expect to see from a oat stout. Gave low overall due to lack of head and cost. While yes it is very good to warrent the higher price tag, it is too costly for regular purchase and will be just a one time deal for me.

This beer is beyond description! It is really close to perfection. The liquid is pitch black with a tiny brown lacy head. Taste is stunning with coffee, a little bit of sweet but just the perfect pinch of sugar you would put in your morning coffee. This one is absolutely on my personnal imperial stouts top 3 list this year! Stunning beer!

10 Oz tap. Black with a brown head. Aromas of coffee and chocolate, with some fall fruit. Flavor is mild sweet at first worth less of coffee, baldness nicely with roasted malt and some alcohol. Full body with a creamy mouthfeel and active carbonation. Overall, not to complex, but really delicious.

What can you say about Founder’s Breakfast Stout that hasn’t already been said? Aroma is pure coffee and sweet malt. Pours black with very thin almond head. Taste is well balanced and delicious. Great beer!

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
ASPETTO: marrone scurissimo, impenetrabile.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
May 11th, 2013 - Founders’ Breakfast Stout is the kind of beer that has been whispered about in dark corners of beer tasting rooms and liquor stores for years. But I never saw the thing anywhere in Colorado, Washington or California. But amongst the buried beer treasures we found in an unassuming bodega in Los Angeles was this thick, belly-leadening treat. By now most stouts all look like each other, and this is true here too, where a dark, almost ominous halo of brown fluff circles the top while a deep, dark brew sits at the bottom, meditating. The aroma is different - strange, intoxicating and deep. Inside there’s the smell of wet tree bark, cinnamon, the sharpness of freshly cut cedar, dark coffee, soy sauce, dark brown sugar, cacao nibs and a strong push of alcohol. And the flavor is an unctuous and boozy wave of delicious, smooth stout. Here a lighter, fresh and medium roasted coffee taste dominates, speckled with some of the sweet and bitter touch of cacao nib, and bolstered by a deep, chocolate flow that rocks the flavor from beginning to finish.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Founders Breakfast Stout has a thin, beige head, a dark brown, almost black appearance, and some fine, splotchy lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate, and the flavor is the same with not-so-harsh bitterness and essentially no alcohol pickup. Mouthfeel is medium, and it seems to become more watery as one drinks it down, which is odd. Founders Breakfast Stout finishes powdery and flavorful. RJT

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Massive coffee and dark chocolate aroma, the chocolate coming stronger forward as the beer warms up. Pours pitch black, and looks delicious in the glass. The taste is striking, lots of roasted coffee, lots of dark chocolate, smooth as hell. One of the best stouts I have ever had.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rich dark chocolate aroma with the bitter sting of coffee. Pure black with a dark brown head. Full bodied, lots of hops, long bittle finish, dark chocolate and coffee. A huge and excellent beer.
