4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 LilBeerDoctor (2821) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 18, 2008UPDATED: NOV 27, 2008 Bottle courtesy of iowaherkeye. Pours black with a dark tan head that dissipates rapidly. Aroma of coffee predominantly, followed by roasted malt, nuts, and rich sweet malt. Flavor of coffee roast, peanuts, some burnt malt. Solid body. Great beer (it didn’t awe me though). 8/4/7/4/16
Rerate 11/23/08: Growler. Pours black with a small tan head that fades rapidly. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, and roasted nuts. Flavor of sweet roasted malt and lots of coffee and nuts. Tasty and very drinkable for an imperial stout. Nice coffee presence. Lots of chocolate peanut butter. Yum!

Fantastic beer! Well worth the $10+ price.
I normally have it in the winter time and love serving it with coldwater fish.

Classic chocolate, coffee bean, vanilla, light caramel smell, the smell is incredible! Dark as night appearance, you sure can taste the 60 IBU’s, you can also taste the oats, expected a little more sweetness, great coffee aftertaste.
I finally got to taste this beer being in California, it’s extremely hard to get, but have to say it’s not the best stout out there. Never had KBS and I hear it is incredible, but I would certainly rate Speedway’s stout better than this. Great stout but not what all the hype is about.

From a chilled bottle. It poured a nice black hue with a brown head that had little retention and no lace. Aroma was a mix of sweet malts, coffee, dark cocoa and some roasted malts. Flavor seemed to have great balance. A great blend of sweet and roasted malts. Both the chocolate and roasted malts complmented one another while matching up with the malt flavors. alcohol was mildly present on the finish. A nice smooth mouth feel.

The Breakfast Stout pours black with a dark brown head that lasts for a while and leaves delightful lacing. The aroma is coffee and chocolate. The flavor is chocolate up front with the bitterness of coffee hanging on in the aftertaste. Overall the brew is delicious!

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 jebert (410) - Watertown, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 6, 2013
Pours an opaque black with a creamy light brown head. Nose is malt and coffee. Very thick and creamy on the palate, the taste is an explosion of dark roasted malt with chocolate and coffee overtones. Slightly bitter on the finish, not sweet. An excellent stout, one of the best I’ve tasted. Pairs well with grilled meats or dark cheeses.

Excellent coffee stout. This is always a treat for me. Creamy, nice body. Coffee notes but does not over power. Very roasty.

Pours black with a chocolate brown head. Smell is roasted coffee with a little dark chocolate and hops. Taste is a little less rich with coffee and cream. Finish is long.
