COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Youíve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. Weíre actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

Aroma of ash, coffee, and chocolate. Appears an opaque black, with a small brown oil-slick on the surface. Flavor is sweet and chocolatey, with a deep roast coffee flavor that gives way to some ash notes in the finish. Palate is medium-light but with a smooth creamy feel. Overall, a very good brew. My thanks go to joeybgood.

Bottle at home. Pours black with frothy brown head dissipates to a little lacing. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, other roasted malt notes, some dark fruit, alcohol. Taste is bitter coffee and light sweetness. Finish is long alcohol warmth and coffee. Heavy bodied and nice mouthfeel. This is really nice!

Roasty with nice hints of oatmeal, chocolate, and coffee. Bitter in the way that dark chocolate typically is and very full bodied.

Bottles, thanks Beerism! I am happy to finally try this - 2012 A dark black pour with a filmy beige head. Roast coffee and molasses. Full bodied and silky soft the taste is hugely coffee with a sweet milky coffee taste. The 2013 is a similar dark cola pour with a slightly thicker beige head. It has a similar aroma as the 2012 almost identical but with a bit more of a fudgey caramel quality to it. Chocolate, milk sugary coffee taste. Sweeter than the 2012 but the differences were incredibly minimal. Ap 4 Ar 8 t 9 p 4 O 15-16

Bottle. Pitch black, oily liquid, with a small, creamy, tan head. Amazing, rich, complex aroma with all kinds of different chocolate and coffee notes, vanilla, caramel, some alcohol, even some vegetables. Taste is more of a straight stout, with coffee, wood, smoke, dark chocolate, dark dried fruits, earth. Mouthfeel is medium, oily, with a medium carbonation and it finishes bitter, roasty, dry, with coffee, wooden and dark chocolate notes. Tasty stuff! Just one little complaint, that the taste doesnít fully keep what the wonderful nose promises. But nonetheless a delicious Stout that even is quite easy to drink despite the ABV and the richness.

American oatmeal stout enriched with Sumatra and Kona coffee. Thin, beige head, black colour. Spicy coffee beans in the aroma, like a ristretto, smoked accent, charcoal, chocolate, some caramel, some vanilla. Strong chocolate maltiness in the mouth, soft and silky thanks to the generous appliance of oats, powdery, very full mouthfeel, caramel and cinnamon hints, smokey accent again, finishing in a strong roasted bitterness. Not sure Iíd have this for breakfast as the name suggests - but a very good stout in any case.

2013 bottle poured into a snifter. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, bliss. Opague black with a small off-white head. Tastes of chicory, dark chocolate, the essence of earth. This unbelievable imperial stout will change someoneís life. Or twice.

355ml bottle. Poured a brown so dark that it borders on black, with a brown head which quickly diminished to a ring, minimal lacing. Aroma of chicory, espresso, dark cooking chocolate, smokiness and vanilla. Medium roasty bitterness combined with some sweetness. Medium, smooth body with some astringency and a mildly warming alcoholic finish.

Bottle. Black body with tan not very long lasting head. Aroma is malts with chocolate, coffee and dried fruits. Taste is wonderful balanced between roasted malts bitterness and coffee, vanilla, cocoa sweetness. Palate is rich, full, oily. Aftertaste is perfect balanced between sweetness and bitterness. Wonderful.

355ml Bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£4):
Strong with oatmeal & chocolate, some coffee & some milky notes plus a little sweetness. Good roasted notes & bitterness feature, offset with some sugar. Despite the strength the alcohol is masked by the chocolate & dark malts.
Black with a thin, light brown lacing that covers the surface & holds until I start drinking.
Strong chocolate, subtly sweet with light bitterness & strong coffee, some oatmeal too. There is some espresso like flavours & lots of cocoa with roasted malts & darker fruits, sugar & vanilla. Complex & great tasting.
Full bodied & smooth, the alcohol content is almost completely hidden with only the slightly warming feel giving an indication as to the strength of this one. Strong sweetness with the occasional bit of bitterness; frighteningly easy to drink too.

An exceptional beer from Founders, definitely the best Iíve tried from them and up there with the best Iíve tried from any brewery for that matter. Excellent stuff from the start & one Iíll be picking up the next time I spot it anywhere.

Black pour with a minimal tan head. Aroma jumped out of the bottle - coffee, chocolate, vanilla, toffee, roast. Big, bitter chocolate and coffee flavour up front, burnt toffee, sweeter chocolate note comes through, a little vanilla. Amazing beer
