Shared by a good friend for farewell. Black. Fair light brown head which partly lasted. Still full of amazing coffee yet. Rich chocolate. Dark chocolate. Licorice. Phenomenal maple syrup bourbon barrel character! Like nothing else. No booze. So well integrated. Everything comes together perfectly. Complex and interesting. Never got to try it fresh, but a couple years old and I can say its phenomenal. Full, rich, lush, smooth, creamy, otherworldly.

Sample from bottle from two really cool awesome guys at the Bridge. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Big maple and coffee notes on the nose. The nose is so exuberant I feel like a snake being charmed. Lots of maple and roasted chocolate and bourbon on the tongue but everything blends together so nicely. Hides itís alcohol well. As awesome as KBS is this about 18% better.

Pours black with a small off-white head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, alcohol, coffee, oak and vanilla. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, coffee, wood, oak, vanilla, bourbon and chocolate finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle, 75cl. Thanks Papsoe. A black one, topped by a finger-thick light tan head. The aroma is ridicoulusly wonderful, with brown sugar, a faint boozy hint and both coffee, chocolate and maple syrup. Hints of dried fruits, licorice, and with some vanilla. Perhaps a bit sweet on the palate, but damn itís lovely. Full-bodied, soft carbonation and with some warmth. Bourbon, dried fruits, vanilla hints, chocolate, coffee and quite a lot of dark sugars. Lasting finish. Wonderful, tasteful and dangerously easy drinkable. Some say itís too boozy and bourbon-ish. I normally donít care too much for bourbon in beer, but this is just wonderful. 140418

750ml bottle - big thanks to Jay A. for sharing this! Split with b3shine and danielcoor. Bottle has kind of a higher fill... Maybe this has aged better than other examples? Very dark brown / red color. Thin bubbly dark brown head. Dots of lace. Big coffee in the nose. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, lighter, creamy carbonation. Very nice chewy texture to it. Kind of dry in the finish. Dark chocolate, whipped cream, coffee, and some nice maple syrup still. Just light hints of oxidization. Moderate to bigger bitter taste, just a very light acidic bite - not sure if thatís the coffee or the age, giving that light bit of bitter acidity. Definitely getting way better as this warms up, holy shit. Super creamy, velvety smooth texture to this. Big chewy oat character coming out a ton. Awesome vanilla coffee notes, good oats, maple. Wow. Glad I got a bigger sample of this, just so much complexity and awesome flavors playing together. Maple syrup way more now. Looks very good for an aged imperial stout, Iím tempted to raise appearance to a 5. Incredible stuff, wow. Wasnít expecting to rate this so highly (especially for a not fresh example - though it was stored cool), but it really is incredibly impressive. Looking for criticisms, maybe just some very light hints of molasses, but I have to look for them.

Very generously shared by Kermis. Poured a deep, dark brown black with an oily viscosity and a small tan ring,. Aroma of dark chocolate, vanilla, roast coffee. Full body, flavour as the aroma, lushly smooth, some bourbon sweetness, slight hint of the maple syrup?
