Aftertaste: sweet, caramel, weird spiciness, alcohol, maple syrup, more alcohol, dark chocolate, overripe fruits, liquorish, aniseed.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark beer with some ruby hints when held against the light.. Small brown head. Huge, thick nose of chocolate and alcohol. Big flavors of chocolate, maple, brown sugar, toast, vanilla, barrel and a little chalk. Long chocolate pudding finish. This is not a subtle beer.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours pitch black with small tan head from 22oz bottle. Nose of coffee, chocolate and some vanilla bourbon. Viscous in the mouth feel. Taste is of burnt coffee bean, mocha, and very sllight alcohol sting. Its almost like a better blended but more mellow version of KBS. Top notch.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Totally psyched to try out this brew FINALLY. All in all it is just the average over-the-top stout but the finish of charred oak and maple sweetness. As it warmed up it got pretty sweet and a tad bit of heat from the abv came out. Still, thanks for this gem of a beer OmegaX.

Bottle into snifter. Aroma was mainly cocoa and coffee with a liquorice aroma. Light bourbon notes. Flavors are pretty similar. I thought this was going to be a mind blowingly awesome brew. It’s good, just not as good as I hoped.

[10/4/13] Bottle sample at a tasting at chriso’s place. Thanks jsquire! Black with some brown foam. Aroma of coffee beans, some cocoa, dark chocolate and some bourbon notes. Very sweet flavor with maple, chocolate, roastiness and some bourbon. Thick, full-bodied. Very good, just a bit too sweet.

750ml bottle, DSG and jsquire tasting at Chris’. Many thanks to jsquire! It pours a deep brown, almost black color with a tan small head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, some vanilla notes and bourbon. And maple syrup, but overly done. Taste is mostly sweet, chocolatey, with maple syrup, coffee and very light roasted bitter notes in the finish. Very thick with soft carbonation. Great beer, but not better then KBS.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma is lots of black coffee with some sweet chocolate in there. Dark tan head and a bit syrupy, but delicious. The sweet maple is great with the bourbon and the coffee blends perfectly with the chocolate. And age has treated it well. Try it if you can.
