12oz Bottle @ Coles Buffalo NY. Floral aroma & great looking IPA. Easy drinking & alcohol well hidden. Hops doen’t dominate. A little too smooth for my liking. More of a APA to me.

Just got this in atrade and couldnt wait to try it. Great brew, man. Had this one this was the most flavorfull one of the bunch. Just a great beer. Nice solid flavor and aroma. Drinkablity was top notch for a beer of 7%+ ABV.

Pours a light copper with a nice white head. Aroma is heavy on citrus and pine with a bit of sweetness to balance. Taste is hoppy but not overpowering actually one of the most balanced IPA’s i’ve had. This stuff rocks. Thanks ross!

Pours a light copper with a small tight head. Aroma of oranges and pine. A little soapy, but otherwise a great taste to this with hops and sweet citrus.

Bottle. Aroma nice hoppy flow from my glass. Pours a nice amber. Flavor was a nice balance of malts and hops, primarily a piney sweetness. Palate was nice fullness and good finish. Overall this was a nice’n.

Pours a clear copper/amber color with a couple inches of fluffy off-white foam. A little bit of lacing, but not much. Faint hops in the aroma.
Tastes pretty good with a solid but not powerful malt backbone, and ample spicy piney hops. A bit thin in the mouthfeel department, but a nice aftertaste. I pick up a hint of lemon and some residual alcohol.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2007 Bottle from1FastSTi. Clear golden/yellow color. Nice white head. The taste was of citrus hops and some malts. For some strange reason I tasted chocolate in the finish.

I love Founder’s beers, Red Rye and Black Rye in particular. This IPA was not one of my favorites, as it is extremely grassy-tasting, reminiscent to me of Bell’s Hopslam.
It pours a red color with an abundant white head. It smells vaguely sour (at least for an IPA) with a cut-grass smell. The flavor is hoppy, but not in a sweet, citrusy, floral, or piney way. Instead, this hoppy taste is slightly sour and tastes a bit like cut-grass, like Bell’s Hopslam. I didn’t particularly care for this approach to an IPA, although I can see how others might feel differently.
Mouthfeel was good...fine bubbles which denoted the feeling of softness and sophistication.
I won’t be drinking this beer again, yet I would recommend it just because it is a bit unique.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Beerio (48) - USA - JAN 9, 2007
The beer has a fuckin load of sediment floating around. It was pretty good, not as great as I was led to believe. Nice flavors, and hop aroma, but not as potent as some other, more favorable IPAs. It’s better than Harpoon, and a slew of other macro IPA’s, but this couldn’t even suck the Stone Ruination’s cock.

Huge bubbly pour. Hop and citrus aromas. I love IPA’s but, not a fan of the Centennial Hop due to bitterness. Good but not great beer.
