COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale’s sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2010 Bottle. 12 oz. Split with James and Sean. Pours honey orange with a thick white head. Aroma of hops, caramel, pine and hay. Medium bodied with a tangy, almost sticky mouthfeel.Great IPA. Re- Rate: Initial 3.9 Bottle. 12 oz. Pours a glowing orange-red with a thick, fluffy, pillowy tan head atop. Aroma of fresh flowers, honey, grass, juicy hop resins, and hints of grapefruit and malty caramel. Full, boid, wet, malty, yet aggressively hoppy mouthfeel; body is directly down the middle of hop and malt. The balance carries through until the finish, which yeilds to the hoppy bitterness. Excellent IPA.

Bottle from Bierkoning. Glowing brown body with sticky head. Toasty caramel head. Nice taste of toffee, caramel. Quite spicy too with hops in the finish and citrus notes. A lovely IPA. Another great beer from Founders.

Poured from bottle, aroma is of a hop garden, very potent yet soothing. This has a pronounced citrus taste while maintaining its hop balance, almost like a very hoppy Bell’s Oberon Ale. Appears like a traditional IPA, however this is one IPA that sets the foundation for what I like in a hoppy ale.

bottle courtesy of tytoanderso! very nice ipa, pours a dark gold to amber color, nice khaki coloered creamy head that leaves lots of spotting. aroma is nice with stringent hops, sweet malts, and doughy yeast. the flavor is very bitter upfront, sringent till the back, and you think it’s a lil overdone, then the sweet malts with a tiny hint of the yeast come in and mellow out the finish and after taste! very nice and complex progression on every sip!

Pours a medium, hazy amber/orange color with little head. Good lacing remains through finish. Pleasant, flavorful aroma with both malt and hop presence. Citrus (orange and grapefruit) and floral hops, spice, with medium caramel malt on the nose. Well balanced with good, dry and bitter finish which hits just right - not overbearing. The alcohol is very well hidden. An excellent offering and a solid four - Cheers!

A: Pours a yellowish color but when put up to the light it has beautiful redness to it. Medium sized head that hangs around and leaves behind layer upon layer of lacing. S: Nice hoppy aroma with tons of citrus.... ruby red grapefruity baby. There is a nice sweet caramel malty aroma in the background which really helps to bring this one together. T: Has the wonderful taste of grapefruit hops right from the start. I love Centennial Hops, and this one represents its namesake well. There is a touch of sweetness from the malt to balance everything out. Simple, and Straight forward, yet very enjoyable. M: Medium bodied with a dry finish.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2010 This was purchased at Total Wine in Richmond. The head formed with an inch of froth. The color a cloudy gold. The aroma of citrus was evident after pouring. The bitter taste of the hops was perfect well balanced. The aftertaste was bitter and classic of a good IPA. The medium bodied ale had the right alcohol for good IPA above 7.%. I will go back and purchase more. When Taylor was visiting in 2010 we purchased a growler from Whole Foods. The ale was just as good as the first time. I am raising my scores.

Bottle from Tiffany’s, Kalamazoo. Amber colour, off-white head. Aroma is very hoppy, with pine and citrus. Flavour is pine hops, citrus and some biscuit malts. Very bitter and fairly dry. A brave IPA.
