Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale’s sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

355ml bottle, unfiltered, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. Pours an amber body with a very slight haze. Firm, near-white head slowly fading leaving spotty lacing behind. Spiced aroma of partially dried fruits. Well blended flavour containing citrus peels, pine needles and malty sweetness. Dry bittersweet tail. Mouthfilling and enjoyable (at home in Tromsø, 10.05.2011).

Tap. Nice pure white pillowy head that leaves great lacing on a hazy bright orange color. Both floral and citrus hoppiness in the aroma, and almost a bit crackery for the malt. Again, floral and citrus hops for the flavor but some grassiness sneaks in as well. Nicely dry and bitter. Medium body with softer carbonation.

Big citrus and floral aroma. Well balanced aftertaste and the bitterness is overwhelmingly positive. Slightly watery. Love it!

Picked up a sixer for memorial day weekend. Pours clear copper color with beige soapy head that dissapates quickly. Nose is piney hops and full of citrus and other tropical fruits. tastes malty and kinda sweet but with just enough bittenr. gets plenty of hops and the grapefruit you want from an IPA. Great lasting finish perfect for this muggy Friday night I doubt the sixer will survive through memorial day

Clear copper, with big powerful bouquet of citrus zest, pine, floral, and malt. The taste is floral and grapefruit, with soft but bitter hop nuances. The finish is perfectly balanced and lasts forever. Palate is just slightly watery, but that adds to the drinkability. Nearly flawless, expertly done.

Bottle. Chicago, Il. Good pour; excellent copper colour, decent head, lots of lacing. Plenty of floral notes in the nose. HUGE floral flavour - not unpleasant at all. Very, very well balanced IPA; I don’t get a ton of pine in this, and the bitterness on the back end is fairly soft. I suppose I can pull some malty smoothness out of the bottom there as well. Not my favorite IPA in the world - I enjoy a hoppier pine character and citrus - but very, very good.

12 oz Bottle. Appearance is amber color with light, off-white head that has good lacing. Aroma is heavy citrus with a slight caramel sweetness and floral hop notes. Taste has prevalent citrus flavors especially grapefruit and lemon with a sharp, piney hops throughout. Palate is light to medium-bodied, slightly watery, lively carbonation, and a bitter finishing. A very good IPA.

On tap at The Big Hunt in Washington DC on a visit with THL, served in a shaker. Pours clear amber with a small white head. The head mostly remains and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has big aromas of grapefruit and pine, with biscuit malt, flowers, licorice and a touch of lemon. The flavour is quite bitter throughout with citric notes, toasted malts and a floral accent. The finish is long and medium bitter with a toasted malt accent. On the palate, it is medium in body with a smooth, watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall, an excellent well-balanced IPA. The citrus notes are very nice. 2011-05-12

Pours a deep, copper hue. Slightly cloudy. Malt and piney hops in the nose (a little grassy too). Fairly full mouthfeel. Caramel maltiness, sweetness. More hops. Slightly sharp finish but lingering sweetness- almost like the Jolly Rancher candy finish in Dogfish Squall that I like. But this is a little heavier and maltier, I think. A very good IPA. I’m happy they’re in NY now.

12 oz. bottle from Whole Foods in New York City. Appearance is totally clear copper, containing big bubbles and topped by a small head. Aroma is piney with some lemon. Flavor is big on the hops and has a sharp bitterness. There is a dry finish and minimal sweetness. This iPA really exceeded my expectations. Awesome brew.
