Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale’s sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

Bouteille. Arômes puissants d’agrumes. Très belle apparence. Cuivré avec un bon col. Belle amertume en bouche avec une belle finale sèche.

6 Aug 2011, bottle. rich orange w/ pink hues in the center, steady bubbles, a little hazy and perhaps some faint sediment. nose is absolutely gorgeous! sweet pink grapefruit, maybe some sweet red cherries and rose petals. some alcohol notes as well as at least moderate malt profile. med body and moderately fizzy. taste is not as great as the nose but that’s not saying anything bad, i just had higher hopes. hop flavor is like a dry field grass, or grapefruit pith. It isn’t very sweet and alcohol is a big flavor player. i like this and could drink it regularly but it could be a lot better.

Poured on draft. Appearance is a translucent gold to copper with a medium white head. Aroma is a fruity, citrusy hop profile. Taste is initially a berry-esque fruitiness giving way to a citrate hop dry finish.

12 oz bottle. Poured a nice copper hue with off white head which lasted thru the testing. Citrus and hop aroma, very classic for the style. Taste is ripe citrus with grassy notes, some floral notes present. Very good IPA.

Bottle - Pours hazy reddish-amber with a huge creamy off-white head. That’s beautiful. Bitter grapefruit and herbal hops dominate the nose, but it’s not crazy pungent. The malt is front-and-center, too--sweet and lightly toasted. There’s a lemonade component as well, but mixed with an herbal lemongrass tea. The taste is more malt-dominant, with toasted malts hitting early and more chocolatey notes coming through on the finish. Grassy, grapefruit hops linger through the long finish. A little sweet and malty for my liking, but very nice overall. I would really have to be in the mood for this beer to drink more than one in a sitting.

Full and contained head sets this one up nicely in a pint glass. Aroma is fantastically floral, a citrus haven, and glorious. Taste is a slight let down from the ol factory excitement, but still great. Hoppy, fresh grapefruit, dried cloves,, some ginger, elegant dry hopping really brings forth a big and diverisfied taste. Founders makes great beer. Color is bronzed oragne with brown, red, and copper hues.

Really nicely done. Light fruity smell, clean, but not skunky smelling like some IPA’s. Really nicely balanced and not overly bitter. On draft served in a pint glass.
