The aroma is everything youíd want in a aromatic IPA. Floral and citrus. I can smell the sweetness. The pour is beautiful...deep gold with a nice white head. The tase is perfect for me. Im liking hoppier beers more and more but this showcases the hops and the malts equally and is so balanced. I can see how it isnít quite hoppy enough. Its sweet and bitter on the finish and has a nice body. Founders doing it right again.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle poured into a tulip. Aromas of virus hops. Initial taste is loaded with hops but balanced well with malty sweet backbone. Hops linger in the finish. An excellent ipa

Beer at the office is bittersweet - you are doing something you shouldnít and you didnít pay for it. But it also means itís 9pm and you are still at the office.
Founders Centennial IPA however, is also bitter sweet. Bitter dry hops ever so slightly, but more sweet caramely flavors almost a toasted chocolate flavor somewhere hidden underneath coming out. But the majority of the taste is sweet citrus hops for you to enjoy.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bought this for the hell of it, really liked there Double Trouble IIPA, Old Curmudgeon barrel aged and old ale. So thought Iíd try something a bit more tame from the brewery. 355ml bottle. Pours out rich golden/amber. Small/medium off beige head with good retention at first, slowly fades to leave decent lacing and thin froth. Classic knock out aroma, loads of fresh citric hops, lemon peel, some pine and tangerine notes. Good amount of sticky caramel balancing the floral aromatic aromas. Flavour is a little lacking in my opinion, not as well balanced as the aroma would imply, fairly gassy mouth feel with good carbonation, lots of citrus, grapefruit and ripe orange to start, turns more lemony in the mids with floral bitterness kicking in, which takes you to the finish which is fairly abrupt and dry with cut grass and perfume. The body isnít as silky smooth as I had expected from the aroma, I expected a little more in the way of creamy caramel to carry along all the hoppiness, so could feel better on the palate, it also comes across as a little thin when once again compared to the initial aroma. Not convinced by the finish, could be a little loner with more fruitiness and a tad more sweetness. All in all though, a solid IPA which shows off the centennial hop variety well, and also is a perfect example of why people call Centennial the "beefed up Cascade variety" as it is in many ways a higher alpha acid, slightly more spicy.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2015 One of my top 3 IPAí s in the country. In a word- balanced. Hoppy- but not too hoppy. Citrus- defined but not overpowering. Sweet, but not overly. Totally holds my interest from the first sip to the last. If it were up to me, I would issue one of these to every non craft beer drinker out there and watch the revolution take place.
On tap at jack of cups folly beach. Still so good. Tons of pine and flowers. Somewhat resiny. Fairly bitter on the finish. Pleasantly lingering. Solid. Solid.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bright gold, steady carbonation feeding a fine, low white collar. Soggy, shortbread sprayed with peach air freshener aroma. Flavour same as; watery and sherbet-dabbed, like artificially sweetened peach and grenadine scooped into a flat, soda stream lemonade. Has that soggy, chalky, Turkish delight floweriness I donít like in IPAs. Jarring, shampoo finish. Very bitter, yes, but all the hop character of a fake peach-flavoured Belgian ladybeer. Perfumed, astringent and annoying. Big disappointment.
