Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy headís floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This aleís sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

Poured into a pint glass. 3.0 A: Hazy unfiltered orange brown color. Could not get a good head on this not matter how hard I tried. That said, not much retention or lacing. 4.5 S: Really nice aroma. Big citrus smell. Pineapple sticks out like a muthafucka, something Iíve never experienced in an IPA. Also some grapefruit and floral hops. Gonna have to dry-hop with Centennial sometime. Malt character is sweet. 4.0 T: Damn good taste. Not overloaded with hop flavor (which is what I usually like) but just so well balanced it doesnít matter. Pineapple flavor isnít there, but the grapefruit is along with some other citrusy tones. Bitter on finish. Malts lend a sweet balance. 4.5 M: Medium-heavy body. Clean and crisp, yet very silky. 4.0 D: Very good. Hopefully one day I can get another bottle and a head will form. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 02-27-2009 03:51:11

Tasted on tap at the brewpub. Pours amber. Taste of decent malt, balanced well with some mild hops. Good IPA, but nothing earth-shattering.

One of my favorite IPAs. Very nice hop bitterness, but not as strong as some others. A nice sessionable IPA that doesnít overwhelm on the bitterness and is very well balanced.

Definitely a cool ipa. Really nice hop aroma, piney and slick, made even slicker by the caramel in the nose. Taste follows: grass, resin, caramel, citrus without the acidity. Dry resiny finish. Subtle and well-balanced.

On tap at Taco Mac, dirty and a bit gritty, dry and crisp finish but I couldnít help feeling like it was leaving a bad taste in my mouth

Pours blood orange with rich white head, lots of lacing and decent retention. Aroma has plenty of apples, pears, and lemon with almost no malt to balance. Full, rich body. Malty sweetness up front but decidedly bitter on the finish. Fantastic with some greasy food.

A blind IPA tasting with Uncle Steve, Brian the beer Pimp, Celticbrew Bobster, and The one and only Drbayern. The aroma is a hearty flower aroma. Poured a dark yellow with a nice head. The hop flavor is ok, mild. Mild bittering on the backside. In a blind taste test, this was just OK to me.

(12oz bottle) rich orange, clear with a soapy white head. Nose of oranges, bread, and other candied citrus. Taste of bread, sweet citrus, well balanced bitterness. Medium body, well carbonated and bready.
