Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale’s sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

12 fl oz bottle from Barley Wine, København. Fluffy , big-bubbled yellow-blond head. Misty, orangey-golden body. Inviting fruity hop aroma; sweet oranges and tropical, and also some leafy and minty notes. Subuded malts, light nutty and caramelly. Taste is fairly dry, medium malty. More bittering than flavoring (grass and citrus) hops. Healthy body. Slick. Dry, bitter, mouth-cleansing finish. Well crafted, not a benchmark.

Draft. Pours amber orange with a thin white head. Fruity citric aroma with a light sweetness. The flavor has citric and floral hops with a light malty sweetness. Good, but I expected a bit more.

Bottled in september 2009. Pours a beautiful, sort of golden, amber with a cream white head. Typical american IPA with lots of hops on a good malt foundation. I could tell this bottle wasn’t fresh, but it was still alright.

Bottle: Didn’t need to get close to smell this one... Rich aroma is pungent with citrus and florals hops laced with caramel. Just a hoppy and delicious smell. Pours a golden orange with a large fluffy beige head. Sticky bits of lacing. Huge hoppy flavor. Sweet citrus, piney, floral, some dandelion, and caramel. Light resin notes. Not overly dry or wet, but quite smooth and silky mouthful. Delicious IPA.

Hazy orange color with an off-white head. Floral hop aroma with a bit of sweetness. Pine and floral hoppy flavor with a bit of toasted malt. Bitter finish and a fizzy mouthfeel. Pretty good hoppy IPA.
