3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Lots and lots of hops all over the place. Big orange and tengerine flavors, with a ton of floral character as well. Aggressively bitter in the back, balancing a big malt backbone. Sweet candy-like malt all over the mouth. I’m really enjoying this more than the previous members of the six-pack. Hard to find anything lacking here. Complexity, balance, and explosive flavors prevail. Reminds me of one of those gummy, sugar coated orange starkist candies (as did the PP Wipeout).

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Had this at Sunset and just needed ot have some more. Made sure topick some up on the way back to NY but no score, got in trade again. What a great and rich IPA. So flavorful and complex. Aroma of citrus and woods, pine and sweet malts. Taste had more citrus than pine, grapefruits and orange zest. Nice hoppy beer but balnced well. So I had this on tap and bottle, guess I just prefer the tap.

Bottle; courtesy of kleyland and the trashmaster. Poured a nice orange-amber color, with large off white head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, floral, and toffee. Flavor was similar; like a slice of grapefruit. Nice amount of bitterness. Good fot the style.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: DEC 13, 2007 Thanks dra19. Pours a nice orange amber with a two finger creamy offwhite head. The aroma is sweet, fruity, piney, a little spice, . The flavor is very nice, mild subdued but full hop bitterness, spicy piney hops, fruity, sweet, very nice flavor. Nice palate as well. Full and mildly carbonated while providing a warming sensation at the back of the mouth after consuming. One of the better IPAs I’ve had.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle. Poured hazy orange with white head that left splotches of lacing. Hoppy nose with a mild floral aroma. Very well balanced malt and hop character. Surprisingly not very bitter. Alcohol unnoticeable. Very drinkable as a session IPA. I was expecting a little more though.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: NOV 20, 2007 bottle. pours a cloudy amber with an average-sized white head that moves to the edges and leaves a lot of lacing. good hop smell with flowers dominating a hint of a citrus note, and with a bit of caramelly malt to back it up. taste is the same, with the malt catching up a bit more. finishes with a big hoppy bitterness on the first sip, which grows more tame with subsequent sips. medium bodied with a lot of carbonation. not my favorite, but not bad.
re-rate: i tried it a bit warmer and not after a hockey game, and the flavor and smell are way bigger. similar description, but with a bigger nose (and some cotton candy/bubblegum hop notes) and much tastier. suddenly we’ve got pretty much what i want in an ipa.

Bottle - Cloudy amber color. Medium head with lots of lacing. Lots of hops. Very woodsy. Hard to say anything bad, just a darn good IPA. Need to find this one on tap somewhere.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
From a 12oz Bottle. Rated Blind. Pours a somewhat hazy, ripened peach flesh color with a thick head of pillowy ivory. Head is actually a bit large and overly puffy, leaving a pillar of merangue obstructing the aromatic streaming bubbles struggling to reach my nose. Light caramels, graham cracker malts, and floral hops create a nicely balanced nose. The hops have a lightly spicy character and are somewhat earthy, but otherwise emit a grassy perfume. The malt, while caramelly, has a bit of an aged malt extract syrup thickness to it. Medium-light bodied, highly effervescent mouthfeel. The bubbles are a bit coarse and over-done, scrubbing the tongue like low grit sandpaper. A moderate hop bitterness comes out right away on the tongue, along with some darker, lightly toasted bread flavors. The bitterness is a bit strong, causing the darker malt flavors to seem a bit dry and borderline astringent. Some white grapefruit pulp adds some citrus qualities on the backend, but the finish is too dry to add much depth to that flavor sensation. Overcarbonated, overly dry, and the malt profile seems to clash a bit with the spicy, earthy, citrus hop flavor.
