Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale’s sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

Bottle. Hazy orange with a medium white head. Floral aroma with some pine, malt and bread. Taste was hoppy with grass, caramel and something that reminded of red berries. Not that bitter. The bottle was about half a year old.

UPDATED: APR 28, 2012 floral - apricot aroma; nice looking amber color- wonderful tracing; bitter/hoppy on the palate - but not overbearing. Perfect balance. For me - neck and neck w/ Two Hearted for best IPA.

Pours a dark translucent amber with a good, fine-bubbled off-white head. Aroma is hoppy with fruity and malty undertones, quite tempting. Flavor is strongly hoppy and fairly bitter but not too strongly so. Lively, tingly, fizzy texture leaves a nice hoppy finish. Recommended to all hop lovers.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2010 Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours a orange color with a beatiful creamy white head which leaves a lot of lacing on the glass. Aroma is very floral and a bit perfume like with notes of pine, resin, grass and caramel. Flavour of grapefruit, citrus, pine, flowers, grass caramel and berries. Mediumbodied. Carbonation is lively with lots of small bubbles. I like this one, even though I’ve heard it’s not super fresh.

Bottle. A hazy medium amber beer, with an average sized, creamy, mostly lasting white/beige head. The aroma is lightly to moderately malty malty and moderately hoppy, with notes of toasted grains, caramel, grapefruit, flowers, lemon, perhaps a hint of pine and tea. The flavour is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, almost moderately bitter. Rather aromatic and citric, but maybe not enough balanced. Medium body, average to lively carbonation, very long finish with high bitterness, "lightly to moderately abrasive". Not the best from Founders, but a deserving beer.

Bottle: Hazy red colour, with a nice white head. Aroma is flowery, citrus, dry fruits, caramelly, and some chocolate!, that was a bit surprice for a Ipa to have this in the aroma part(?) Flavor was Sweet malty, and a nice big hopy/fruity/flowery mouth feeling. Medium body, and a nice medium dry flowery finish. Well done!
