COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy headís floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This aleís sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

A beautiful label gracing a very beautiful beer. Pours a hazy golden with a good head and sheets of lace. The aroma has a great mango and citrus hop thing going, then there is this gummy worm character to the aroma, I kind of like it. Flavor is of course nicely hoppy with some mango and grassy hop flavor, and plenty of bitterness. This is terribly well balanced by a nice malt backbone. Itís kind of straightforward in the same way that two hearted is.... and of course thatís not where the comparisons end.

Bottle from the Wine Merchant in Findlay, OH. Pours caramel brown with an off-white head. Lots of particulates here. Nose is caramel malt, grapefruit, and some floral hops. Flavor is caramel, grapefruit, some honey, and an enjoyable hop bite upon the finish. Nice hot day beer with balanced bitterness.

I guess I should rate this. Hard to believe uit hasnt been done until now. On tap at the brewpub 7/18/09. Pours a nice amber with a medium light tan head. Big notes of grapefruit and pine in the nose and flavor. Very crisp finish. Still a very good IPA.

bottle, amber pour with big foam and lace, aroma and flavor have a sweet floral citrus character upfront, can be a little cloying, finish is nice

Iím just getting acquainted with these michigan microbrews, I never had a clue but thereís some pretty good shit up there. I was told by dude at the store that Founders "blows Bellís out of the water", but as far as the IPAs go I would have to disagree. Donít get me wrong though, Founders Centennial is good. Itís quite good. But Bellís Two Hearted was excellent, and definitely a step up from this guy. This one is a little less hoppy than I like, but it is strong and tasty. Some IPAs just taste like hops and donít have much character, but this is not one of those. The color is medium-dark and a little murky for an IPA, itís beautiful. Smell and mouthfeel are pretty typical for an IPA. For the price, Iíd prefer a Stone or a Bellís, but itís definitely not a waste. Itís a fucking solid high-end IPA

12 oz btl from theisti - Nice IPA - has intial flavor of classic IPA bitter grapefruit, and then a really interesting anise/black licorice thing going on. Really tasty and pretty unique in a crowded style. Thanks, TIm.

Hazy orange-amber with a bone-white head. Aroma of citrusy hops. Very smooth. Taste is solid hoppiness, as youíd expect from an IPA. Blooms on the tongue after swallowing. Very good example of the style.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2009 Pours a medium copper, like a lighter ESB with slightly tan head that faded a bit with mediocre but lasting lacing. Incredible floral hops and juicy aroma. This is a great IPA and I think I prefer it to their Double Trouble IPA. Canít really say much more about that hasnít been said. This is a great summer, hot sun brew.

Nice little IPA. Great aromas and finish. Flavor is a little on the light side, but itís nicely balanced.
