Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale’s sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

12oz from Julio’s 1 week after buying it Bottle date 01/04/10
Appearance : Deep amber small head. Extensive lacing
Aroma : Lots of malt. Lots of resinous hops. Quite floral.
Taste : Resinous and floral hops. Lots of malt. Finish bitter and malty. Some fruits. Finish slightly alcoholic. Hints of cooked veggies.
Overall : Nice stuff. Fairly straight forward. It sees centennial is not my favourite hops however.

12oz bottle to snifter. Had a aroma of strong citrus honey and sweet flowers. The apperance was a copper orange with a thin white head. It had a mild grapefruit, honey and citrus flavor. The palate was a medium body with a chalky finish that was somewhat sticky. Overall it is very drinkable great IPA for the price.

Sleightly hazy brown with a medium bubbling light brown head. Strong aroma of grape with a mild mandarine background. Broad plesant bitterness that dries out in the finish with a subtle sweetness to back it up. Very clean and nice ipa.

Traded 12oz bottle. Pours a light bronze colour with a small off-white head and nice lacing. The aroma is sweet grapefruit hops and pineapple. Very nice citrus/orange flavour without overpowering bitterness. Dry finish that lasts a fair amount of time and has a little alcohol in it.

Pours clear amber. Floral aromas. Creamy on palate but balanced with medium bitterness and a slight maltiness on the back palate/finish. Refreshing and well-integrated.

For an IPA there is very little bite, color looks great but the flavor is not there at all!

Aroma is pine oil and flowery perfume. Pale malts and woody-ness are harsh. Could use a little more balance in the nose. The appearance is a hazy honey orange. Nice, fluffy head. Nice lacing. Flavor is very much akin to perfume. Pale malts come off very dry. Nice woody hops. Dark and bready roasted malt. Feels thick and slushy. Works for style, feels Imperial. It’s an East Coast IPA: woody and hefty and hop-heavy.

Enjoying this from a growler, pours reddish orange. Nice hop aromas, pine tree and grapefruit standing out, I’m also picking the same things in the taste, citrusy and hoppy. This is a really nice IPA.

12 oz. bottle from Grape & Gourmet. Pours golden orange with an off-white head. Big, but well-balanced aroma of pineapple, tangerines, pine needles, and wet grass. Bitter hop flavor yet well-balanced for a not too intense experience. It’s still a hop lover’s delight but the balance is exceptional. Founder’s makes great beers and this is indeed one of them.

Pours a not quite clear orange color with a very thin head, aroma of oranges, you can taste the hops in this one but they aren’t overpowering, there is a nice balance here, a slight bitter aftertaste reminds you that you’re drinking an IPA.
