4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JAN 27, 2007 Bottle from Sean (illinismitty) Thanks. Pours out a yellow brown color without much of a head. Smell is fruity, grassy, grapefruits, and flowers. Taste is sweet and hoppy, malty and very well balanced. Very easy to drink, very fresh tasting. Pretty damn good stuff, I can see why it would be a benchmark for the BJCP. Nice stuff, for sure.

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2006 Poured a nice orangy color some yeast floating around. Aroma was of citrus hops and resinous. Flavor was of pine and some malty flavors. A non-complex IPA but still good.

bottler poured into shaker. Aroma matches flavor. Hops are strong in aroma. Citrus flavor kicks in with first sip. Awesome lacing. I will be drinking many more of these.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a medium amber with medium quickly fading head. Decent carbonation and light lacing. A very solid IPA. Very nice piney hop aroma and a tart hoppy mild dry grapefruit type flavor. Iím glad I bought a 6 pack of it. Good stuff.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle (courtesy of Hogtownharry): Poured a deep hazy amber color ale with a huge slightly off white foamy head with excellent retention. Aroma of citrus hops is clearly detectable but nice semi-sweet malt presence provides good balance. Taste is also quite strong on citrus hops with nice malt base. Body is above average and I really enjoyed the low filtration level.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. At first sniff I am taken aback by the huge pine/grapefruit explosion, but as it settles in the glass the aroma starts to turn to the sweet caramel malt side of things almost completely dominating the initial hop aroma... quite odd. The hops show up again in the taste and leave a nice lingering bitterness. Very enjoyable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught@Redbones, Boston. A nice IPA, typically aromatic, piney Amercan hops. Lots of hops. Slightly sweet, then bitter citrus, grapefruit, piney hops. Nice length in flavour, and more-ish, especially for its strength.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. It has been a while since a beer took a full page in the notebook. Not bad! Lightly hazy amber orange body with a massive creamy beige head. Citrusy aroma of sweet grapefruit, orange and tangerine, notes of seeds from "Christmas" oranges., very light notes of malt, hints at TIng or lemon-lime soda. Surprisingly light bitterness in the flavour, orange blended with dry neutral alcohol. Feels different from cask sample from Ashleyís, but I have no notes from that to confirm. Medium palate, fairly effervescent. (3+) An unusual IPA, but pretty solid and pleasant. Very glad I picked this one up!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: APR 7, 2011 Re-rate, 2011, draft: The pour was a full amber orange with a nice white to slight off-white colored head. The aroma was pac nw hops, some caramel, faint spicey hops. The flavor followed, juicy, malt presence underneath, good balancing bitterness, but the latter could be more bold. Mouthfeel is moderate to full. Original rating: Numbers came out low on this, but not because it wasnít enjoyable. Itís a nice beer thatís just rather simple and straight forward. Aroma was hoppy, some citrus and resinous notes. The flavor was light malts with light pine, more resinous type flavors. Really, quite simple and uninspiring, but a competent beer. Somewhat thin mouthfeel.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma of toasted bread with lots of floral pine and citrus notes. Copper in color with a tall, off-white head and decent lacing. Flavor is sweet and biscuity, toasted caramel, cookies, with a bitter floral, earthy pine, citrus and touch of minerals in the finish. Sweet but balanced well. The body is medium-light and the mouthfeel is nice and crisp.
