3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a cloudy dark amber with a white head. Smells of grapefruit, flowers, and spices. It has a bitter floral taste but the bitterness never lasts and is always fading.

On tap at Map Room in Chicago. I just wasnít really blown away by this beer. Maybe itís true to style, but didnít particularly catch my interest. Maybe Iím just too used to big hoppy beers to appreciate a traditional IPA. Given a choice Iíd take a pint of Three Floyds Alpha King or Dreadnaught over this beer, no doubt about it.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy copper with off-white head that falls off quickly. Aroma filled with pine, orange, caramel and robust notes of floral, soapy hops. Reminds of Two Hearted in some ways, especially the hop footprint. The flavor is fully bitter with some notes of sweetness ó oranges and vanilla. Juicy. Long finish. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. An American-style, up-front, in-your-face IPA. Enjoyable.

Thanks to ross for this sample. Pours copper with a thin persistent white head. Smells of oranges, pine and nutty malt. Taste is of resiny pine and citrus with an underlying bitterness on the finish. Much more malty than I was expecting. Nice!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a beer that is really nice. I had my eye on this in my fridge for awhile so I cracked it open with a few other friends and I was really happy I did. A crisp aroma of grapefruits rinds and pine sap in the nose. Very refreshing. Appearance was cloudy, burnt orange in color with a small-medium sized head. Flavors in this beer had a nice combo of sweet malts and juicy citrus zest rounding out with an average bitterness. Just a really nice IPA thatís excellent for drinking year-round. Great job to the guys at Founders for this one.

3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pretty good stuff here! Good amount of hop burn, but the afertaste is weird, kinda sour to me, that part is not so nice. Real nice example overall, becoming a big fan of Founders now!

Bottle; nose of ivy hops; clear amber with a small off white head; flavor has hop bitterness with some background caramel and vanilla; mildly bitter hop finish; very good IPA!
