Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale’s sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

12 oz bottle. Golden orange with a big off-white head. Great citrusy hop aroma. Good malt flavor to balance all the citrus hop bitterness. A nice lingering bitter finish. Great IPA.

Medium dark golden/orange pour with strong aroma of citrus and hops. Palate is real smooth with a creamy hoppy character. Alcohol is hidden real well. Has a bit of a citrusy aftertaste with hints of orange. Pretty good IPA. Might buy again.

(bottle) Pours out dark amber with a white head. Aroma is fairly strong with as OSLO mentioned, strawberry jam, light mandarin orange, pepper, and some caramel malt. Taste is quite sweet with caramel and a hoppy citrus peel bitter finish. The mouthfeel was medium, not too bad.

[Bottle] Pours amber-red with a slightly off-white head. Aroma is alright, strawberry jam, floral hops, light maltiness. Taste is largely malty up front, then a good deal of grapefruit-rind bitterness. Medium mouthfeel, decent finish. A good beer, but not the best IPA I’ve had.

Decent standard IPA. This is a lot like Hazed and Infused except with more hops. The dry finish is the same which is ok. Slight bitterness, but easy to drink and overall a crisp finish. The aroma doesn’t really have much going on with it. This beer is a basic middle of the road IPA.

Thanks to Acknud for this gem. Pours out a nice deep amber with a thick white head. The huge floral bouquet of earthy citrusy hops is the first thing I take notice of, but once the head settles, a thick caramel malt body is there to balance it. Taste is mild and smooth, lots of malt with nice accents of citrusy hops. The balance is very nice between the hops and malt, its only deep in the aftertaste do you start to get some hop bitterness. Very nice.

Another near perfect offering from Founders. Well balanced, but maybe a touch too much malt stealing away from the hops. But then I’d snort hops if they’d let me..

Pours a nice slightly clouded orange amber. Nose is perfumed hops, but not a blast to the nose. Nice and even, but firm. Flavor is very nice. Hops are there, but this is no bomb. Just gives a solid hit to the mouth. Lots of pine-y hops. Feel is decent. A bit thinner on the liquid than I would have expected, but a good level of carbonation. Overall very drinkable. I would be down for trying this on tap, or even better, on cask.

Bottle, courtesy of alexanderj and possibly kleyland. Orange - copper pour with lots and lots of off-white head. Aroma is grapefruit and citrus; very pleasant. Flavor is also mostly citrus, lemony, and only slightly malty. Somewhat sticky mouthfeel with some resin in the finish. The flavor might be a little too lemony.

UPDATED: SEP 1, 2010 Pours a nice copper with a moderate creamy white head. Aroma is of citrus hops and some sweet malts. Taste is citrus hops, with a solid sweet malt backbone, slight fruit. Overall well balanced and very drinkable.
