Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy headís floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This aleís sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2007 awesome. big flavor and hops there. but for some reason drinks easier than Bellís Two Hearted Ale. almost prefer this over that now, which is surprising. very tasty.

12 oz bottle: Wonderful aroma big on hops, citrus, and grapefruit scent. Quite complex. Appearance is a faintly cloudy dark golden almost amber color with a nice sized off white head that lingers. Taste is really balanced for an IPA nice medium hop texture that really extenuates during the aftertaste. Some good malt textures in there too. Not a straight Hop bomb, but big on hops got some definite malt characteristics. Aftertaste is bitter and citrus. Overall, Big on aroma, nice looking, great taste, and palate is awesome. Great brew from Founders again.

A deep amber pour with just a tad of creamy white head and lace. A citrus aroma that is just pure pleasure on the nostrils. A bit of a grassy flavor that is different from the nose. There is the piney/citrus flavor with a very good bitter finish. The palate is just a tad on the foamy side but not fizzy. Overall an excellent offering.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. This IPA pours a slightly hazy golden/amber with a thin beige head that quickly turns into a slightly transparent layer of tiny, fizzy bubbles. Very light lacing. Aroma is a huge fruity, caramel hop experience. Grapefruit notes dominate, along with some orange and pine. Slight hint of alcohol. Is this a double IPA? The aroma had me thinking I was in for a taste bud assault, but this is an IPA with balance. Nice malty taste of caramel, then you taste the citrusy hops. This is what I want an India Pale to taste like. I love my doubles, but this is a beer that you could actually eat a meal along with. Medium-body with light carbonation. Quick, slightly bitter finish. Excellent!

this thing poured like a piraat. the head was so dense and thick it took me well over 5 minutes to get a full pour. even then the head didnt go anywhere. as for the flavor, eh. just tasted rather soapy with no distinct good hop characteristics coming through. i have to admit though, i havent been the biggest fan of centennials in the past...so im not all that surprised i didnt like it.

12oz bottle. Pours a light-medium gold with quickly fading head - a bit cloudy, so it gets an extra point for that. Aroma is of very nice hops, but isnít particularly strong. Ah, but the first taste is particularly strong! Very nice filling of the mouth and a bold assault on the tastebuds (of the good kind). Nice and hoppy, and not too piney. </me looking up what Centennial hops are supposed to be like> Yes, from the sounds of it, these are the type of floral hops that are up my alley. Nice beer!

Pours rich with nice head and lacing. Aromas are strong with pine, grapefruit, and floral smells. The complexity is lacking a little, with a little too much focus on the aromatic value instead of bitter value...nice malty undertone. Wish IBUís were higher however. Good IPA

Purchased a growler of this from the brewery to enjoy at home. Pours a dark hazy golden color with a nice white head that sticks around for a bit. Smells of plenty of nice hops. Taste is also full of hops with some slight floral flavor, but not overwhelming. There is a bit of malt taste as it goes down, and it goes down easy but full the entire time. A bit of sweetness as it finishes and makes for a great session IPA.

Pours a hazy golden color. There are lots of "floaties" lingering in the beer. Smell is hoppy. Taste is a juicy hoppyness with some grassy hops showing up in the background. This has a really good taste working for it. Itís fairly smooth on the palate and refreshing. For a IPA itís not cloying or tiring after a few. This would make a good sessionable IPA. May have to keep some of these on hand.
