Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy headís floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This aleís sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

Dark copper, nice and cloudy with sediment. Tan head fizzles away quickly to leave a ring. Smell is on the weak side, just some floral hops. Taste is a nice blast of hops of front which mellow a bit on the tongue and make way for a malty and doughy experience. Not too sweet, and not too bitter. Dry at the finish.

This is a good IPA but not at that top level. The overriding scent and taste is of grapefruit tartness. The hoppiness is nice and surprisingly smooth but there isnít much else at play here. The strong alcohol content is well masked though.

Pours with a golden orange body topped by a medium thick head with some lacing. The aroma is sweet and sugary with notes of fruit...smells like fruity pebbles cereal. Very similar flavor, but a little more subtle on the sugar. Light to medium bodied and smooth.

Draft at FBC. Small off-white head that mostly diminished, fine-small sized bubbles, good lacing, no visible carbonation, transparent, and an orange hue. Nose was hoppy, citrus, some maltiness, and somewhat soapy. Hoppy and malty flavor. Hoppy mouthfeel. Light-medium body.

Had all the aromas of an IPA. Citrus, floral and pine. Copper body with creamy head. The creamy head had notes of orange and that gave this one a different citrus flavor other that grapefruit. Cool and crisp on palate. Great beer as I sit in the mother in laws living room watching the Yankees loose to the Angels.

crystal clear light copper color with medium sized creamy white head. Aroma is laced with crisp, citrusy hops and hints of malt, orange. Flavor is full of citrusy hops throughout, hints of honey and malt, with significant but balanced bitterness in the finish. A great session brew and one of the better IPAís Iíve had.

Thanks to Pailhead for this beer.

Poured an effervescent dark amber with a fizzy off-white head which lasted for a fairly long time. Clean herbal hops aroma... very refreshing. Taste is more herbal than citrus... lots of grass with an oily hop kick, with just the slightest hint of toffee. Long bitter finish. The body feels pretty full. A very nice and clean IPA. Quite good.

Pours a rather redish, brownish tan with heavy aroma of apples and piney hops. Flavor is hops heavy with a bit of grainy yeast that comes through. The hops dies out a bit in the aftertaste, leaving a slight citrus (lemony?) and apple flavoring that kind of fizzles into nothing instead of driving for the finish line.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2006 Long over due for a rerate on this. Draft at Founders. Amber body with a light haze, off-white head forms a lasting cover and leaves nice lacing. This is served so cold that initialy the nose is very lacking, but as it warms lots of nice, fresh citrus show up. The flavor is lots of grapefruit and pine with a solid caramel backbone. Medium body, slightly sticky, bitter finish. Very nice.

Says on the bottle itís a dry-hopped unfiltered. Pours a moderate amber, slightly yellowish. Immediately notice how fizzy it appears to be, one of the only IPAís iíve seen with this much lacing. Head pours medium and lingers , itís slightly rocky and medium-to-large celled. Aroma is a nice mild mix of citrus and floral notes. Taste is nice, sweet citrus to begin with and ending with floral flavors on the nose. Moderate mouthfeel, not velvety smooth but not coarse. Very slightly fizzy, but not mouth-scouring. Not overly bitter, much more floral than bitter.
