COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale’s sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

Delicious; hoppy but with great floral notes. Not as in-your-face as the IPAs I usually enjoy. Smooth. From a bottle at Quartino in Chicago into a glass; $6.

Pretty average medium brown appearance w/ faint head. Aroma is pretty malty. Taste is pretty flat, mediocre.. This one is overrated.

Can from Stone in Asagaya. Pours a clear amber with a finger of foam that lingers. Big orange and pine nose with caramel dominating. Very faint tropical notes in the background if I try hard to look for them I guess. Clean and crisp on the palate. More malt and caramel, pine. Bitter finish. Simple IPA.

355ml bottle from the Beer Fairy. Pours an almost perfectly clear medium amber with a loosely packed, off white head and lacing. Aromas of citrus, pine, some tropical fruit and spices with a bread backbone. Palate is medium-full body and medium carbonation. On the palate, it’s rich bread and some caramel, with spicy citrus hop flavours and a clean, assertive bitterness that lasts into the off-dry finish. Incredibly well balanced.

Third of a litre at Craft Beer Kontor. A: Mahogany, clear, large thick head, left lots of lacing around the side of the glass. S: Heavy on the citrus hops, had a New Zeeland and Pacific Northwest like aroma. A burst of strawberry and grapefruit against a strong malt backbone, finished with some rye, not boozy at all. M: Medium to heavy body, not hugely carbonated, smooth. O: Another very good IPA, not much more to say.

Bottle at home, bbf 28.11.2016. Beautiful hazy orange amber cookout, beige creamy head. Pine, floral, light citrus, sweet and grainy malts, medium bitter finish. Good body, medium carbonation, oily mouthfeel.

Bottle - Pours a deep amber, thick soapy white head. Fine aroma of fermented bread and citrus. Flavors of a sour dough, citrus, and light fruit medley. Hoppy, but a good bitter, and it softens as you sip. Some earthy aftertaste.

Bottle, 355ml. *** Colour: Deep hazy amber. Big, fluffy white head. *** Nose: Toasted malts, pinewood. Pineapple. Mildly sweetish. *** Mouthfeel: Medium to heavy body, still a tad watery. Soft carbonation. *** Taste: Licorice, pine, resin, plenty of herbs, raisins. Initially a bit sweet, but turns bitter and resinous very quickly. Pine and toffee malts in gthe middle, dry and pine-y finish. Long, strong aftertaste of pine, a hint of lemon, and some raisins. *** Impressions: Atypical IPA with strong malty notes, missing tropical and citrus fruit flavours almost completely, except for some pineapple in the aroma. A multi-layered, heavy, compex brew - but not what you’d expect from an American-made strong IPA.
