Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy headís floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This aleís sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

Pours an orangish gold in appearance out of the bottle. Smell is wonderful of very piney hops. The front of the tongue gets treated to a nice nut like sweetness while the back of the tongue gets good balance of bitterness from some grapefruit and spicey hop notes.

UPDATED: SEP 28, 2016 Bottle 355ml (05.11.2016). Hazy, amber colour with white-yellowish head and good lacing. Aroma is quite intensive, malty with caramel note, sweet with notes of tropical fruits and small resin tone. There is medium to high of bitternes which have herbal and resin character, is medium long and a bit astringent with delicate note of alcohol at the finish. Medium body, a little sweet, caramel but beer have definitely dry character. Generally good IPA with considerable body and power of Centennial hop.

Rich red-gold pour, nice head with sloppy lacing. Floral, gently pastel tropical nose of mango and tangerine, little bit of papaya. Sweet malt. Flavor starts off with gently toasted malt, ringing in a deep peach, then pineapple-orange, finishing off the linger with a great floral accent. Sure, itís not the most bitter IPA, the hops arenít gonna blow your face off, but the progression of flavors is so on point. Rich to delicate. Itís a complete sentence. You can say so many illustritave words to move someone, but only a few basic words in the right sequence can achieve a much more effective point. This beer exemplifies that.

Pretty average medium brown appearance w/ faint head. Aroma is pretty malty. Taste is pretty flat, mediocre.. This one is overrated.

Can from Stone in Asagaya. Pours a clear amber with a finger of foam that lingers. Big orange and pine nose with caramel dominating. Very faint tropical notes in the background if I try hard to look for them I guess. Clean and crisp on the palate. More malt and caramel, pine. Bitter finish. Simple IPA.

355ml bottle from the Beer Fairy. Pours an almost perfectly clear medium amber with a loosely packed, off white head and lacing. Aromas of citrus, pine, some tropical fruit and spices with a bread backbone. Palate is medium-full body and medium carbonation. On the palate, itís rich bread and some caramel, with spicy citrus hop flavours and a clean, assertive bitterness that lasts into the off-dry finish. Incredibly well balanced.

Third of a litre at Craft Beer Kontor. A: Mahogany, clear, large thick head, left lots of lacing around the side of the glass. S: Heavy on the citrus hops, had a New Zeeland and Pacific Northwest like aroma. A burst of strawberry and grapefruit against a strong malt backbone, finished with some rye, not boozy at all. M: Medium to heavy body, not hugely carbonated, smooth. O: Another very good IPA, not much more to say.
