COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale’s sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

(Bottle) Hazy medium-gold/amber. Off white head forms sticky, sloppy lacing. Aroma of fruit, citrus, touch of pine, light caramel and vanilla. Mouthfeel medium-full, perhaps a tad thin, slightly pebbly. Flavor of citrus, light pine over a decent caramel-vanilla malt base. Lingering bitter finish. Very excited to see Founders here in ME after years of getting their stuff either by trade or in MA.

Can from Beers of Europe. Pours amber, medium to low carbonation, single finger off white head. Aroma of light malts, orange, lemon...Taste of initial malts, caramel, biscuit, toasty malts, then come the hops, orange, lemon, citrus, pine, very bitter finish. Really good!

Love this IPA. I am a founder’s fanboy after their breakfast stout, imperial stout and now this. Crisp, not overly hoppy with a little malt. Great after a long summer day at work.

355ml can from Systembolaget. Almost clear, dark golden / copper big fluffy white head. Aroma, alot of sweet malt, citrus hoppy, grass. Medium / full body, creamy smooth mouth feel. The taste is sweet caramel, butter and fruit, mango, tangerine, orange. The finish is bitter with grapefruit. Very nice balanced and well made.

Draft. Clear honey hue with a sudsy head of off-white that sticks around forever. Citrusy aroma -- lemon peel, pine needles, orange juice, apricot. The flavor blends citrus juices -- grapefruit, lemon, lime -- with a splash of pineapple and a rock candy finish. Medium body; moderate massaging CO2. Also present: numbing alcohol and hop spice. Amazing that a single hop can have this much complexity.

12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. Copper colored with remarkably little head. Almost no lacing either. The hop aroma is excellent. Fruity, citrusy aromas. The caramel malt comes through behind the hops. Smells delicious. It does get a bit musty as it warms, though. Taste is a bit underwhelming considering the aroma. Hop flavor to start, but backs off quickly. Maybe a bit one-dimensional. Good, but nothing amazing. Very little alcohol in the taste, more in the warming after the sip. Bitterness is accentuated as it warms. Strong carbonation. Maybe a bit dry in the finish, but a good body to it otherwise. Tasty, but nothing I’d seek out over other IPAs.

Alright IPA, nothing more. Not much bitterness or hoppy aroma. Decent, slightly boring.
